Woo hoo! I beat Lenny by 2! Take that, Kracky! (Shakes fist at Calum) Dang you, Calum, with your wry Canadian wit, I’ll get you next year.

I don’t remember if I did this for last year, but here’s this year’s. If there’s interest, I can post last year’s as well.

I did a bit of digging:

top noisemakers of 2000

top noisemakers of 2001

top noisemakers of 2002

the “rockets” of 2002

discussion of 2003 list

It appears that this was posted on Peeron but never here, and the link is now dead. I’d be interested in seeing such a list. It might be interesting to put links to these top noisemaker listings in the .people sidebar.

Interestingly, I’m higher on the list this year than I was in 2002, even though I have fewer posts (by 160!). Is this a general trend . . . pulls out calculator . . . Top ten posters of 2004 (leaving out news.lugnet, and combining Lar’s split personality into one, so I’m really going down to spot 12): 8290 total posts Top ten posters of 2002: 11087 total posts Is this a general trend? Has posting across the board on Lugnet gone down by as much as 25%? Or is this just a trend among the top posters? Any thoughts as to why this might be? Perhaps this tracks with the growth of other forums (classic-castle, classic-space, eurobricks, etc), or is there a decrease in interest due to blay and other controversies (of course this cuts both ways as there have been huge threads with hundreds of posts on these)? Or is there another factor?

Bruce

(...) Yikes! No one has ever called me wry or witty. :) I have been called Canadian before though. Calum (20 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)
