  Re: finding a password

(...) Done. I believe you will get an email with the new password, and then you could just go to the login page on LUGNET (from the front page, click "sign in"). (22 years ago, 23-Feb-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Republic of Congo Scam - hit me and other cox.net Lego Fans

Yeah, I got hit by that crap too. It was good for a laugh, at least, though I'm seriously ticked at the dickweed who set it up. Spam bad. Me no like. Take care, Soren (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Republic of Congo Scam - hit me and other cox.net Lego Fans

Diddo. I got a whole swath of these too. Funky, but all had the same last name in the header Audu, but different first names (which only resembled a random smashing of the keyboard). It's one of the more bizarre spam-scams I've seen. -Evil Wayne (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Republic of Congo Scam - hit me and other cox.net Lego Fans

(...) I got six, same text word by word in all of them. I also get a lot of "you won a trip to Puerto Rico!" e-mails, presumably with the same kind of origin. (...) Thanks - at least I know I'm not alone :-/ Pedro (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Republic of Congo Scam - hit me and other cox.net Lego Fans

(...) All spam is bad. But some is worse than others. I find these "heartrending stories" of widows/sisters/illegitimate sons of strongmen with mysterious strongboxes of cash or secret bank accounts to be more amusing than annoying. A new twist for (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Republic of Congo Scam - hit me and other cox.net Lego Fans

(...) nod - spiders can harvest LUGNET for email addresses. There's really nothing anyone can do about it, either. For one thing, if we hide the email addresses in the web interface, we will lose an important functionallity - the ability to send (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

Republic of Congo Scam - hit me and other cox.net Lego Fans

Well, we all get spam. I don't get too much, but I get some! Today I got three from the same spammer. The spam was sent to cox.net Lego fans. I know bhamilto1 (Brad Hamilton), copyright (myself) socalray (I know I have seen this guy here!) and (...) (22 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: New UK Bricklink store - NinjaBricks!

(...) Well, only one of the 3 groups was out of place (lugnet.announce) - and, IMHO, it was only a questinable post to .announce, and not worthy of strong censure. (...) I think one announcement is acceptable, as long as followup is set to .publish (...) (22 years ago, 20-Feb-03, to lugnet.admin.general)
