Re: Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

(...) Agreed... but... I didn't rate this one so I am just guessing, but I know I rated some of the electric stuff low not because it doesn't function as designed, but because of price performance... 30 bucks for a SINGLE temperature sensor, for (...) I can't work out how this got such a low vote : 5307 Head Light Brick. One either needs it or not. It has more or less a single function - which it meets? Scott A (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)

And the "most-owned" is........ .......3033 1200 piece tub Well that's a surprise (not) ROSCO (who's just heading down to K-Mart to get a couple of 3033s at 15% off, which only arrived in Aus a coupla weeks ago) Todd Lehman <lehman@javanet.com> (...)   Re: Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

(...) Go here and sort by "Lowest Rated"... (URL) interesting that the new race cars are among the lowest rated. Hmm, what I'd like to see is a graph with the numeric year of release along the x-axis and the ratings along the y-axis. --Todd (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)

Re: Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

Since this list consists predominantly of sets from the last 20 years, I would add a few others that I think people would have loved, had they been old enought to enjoy them (from the 60's and 70's). Here's my own top 7 list of older sets: 1) (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)

(...) I was going to make a 1594 Space Station using the parts from 6930 and 6890, and post "scans" for April Fools. So much for that joke.   Re: 1593 building challenge (was: Re: 1593 box photos!)

(...) I actually did this last year, and sold the pieces, orig. manuals, and a color printout for the 1593 as a lot on ebay. Got maybe $100 for it (eh). Anyway, there are precisely four pieces left over, most notably the two 4x5x3 inverted slopes. (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.space)

Re: Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

(...) I don't see any problem with folks rating that one. If I was into 12V trains I'd probably rate it high also. (...) That certainly is unusual, but I suspect that it mostly is an "error" due to the small sample size (none of the sets has more (...) Yeah, I was also suprised by the 'accessory' sets: 26. 93.33 9 7860 Remote Controlled Signal with Straight Track 43. 91.36 22 4515 Straight Tracks Of course it'd be probably most interesting to filter out everything with less than X votes or (...)   Re: Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

(...) Oops, my fault. That database doesn't know that 497 and 928 are the exact same set under different numbers. People rated both very highly. The fact that 928 got fewer votes (instances of ratings) indicates that more people probably have 497 (...) (24 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)
