If you're looking for a way to contribute to LUGNET, here are a couple ways you
can help in the transition 'to the next level.' [1]

1) The advisory committee is looking to create an accurate picture of the scope
of LUGNET, what tasks exist, and what roles are needed to fill them. Over the
past few years, there have been quite a few projects started and maintained by
members of the community and hosted on LUGNET. We'd like to have a complete [2]
list of these projects -- things like the LUGNET FAQ, inventories, Shiri's
Acronym Guide, etc. -- so they can 'stay on the map' as we discuss the tasks for
LUGNET.

If you are involved in such a project, please post a response letting us know
the name of the project, its purpose, and who is coordinating it. Also, try and
think of projects that haven't been touched in a while (a la Acronym Guide) and
list those too.

2) There have been some excellent suggestions made about LUGNET over the years
also -- ideas for features, processes, and projects. A lot gets lost in the
shuffle, and we couldn't possibly remember everything. Could someone (or some
group) please compile a list of links to posts with good suggestions? It would
be awesome if each link was accompanied by a brief (1-2 sentence) summary too.

Both of these tasks would be a huge help to us! Thanks!

-Tim

Good idea Tim. The two I can think of right now are: A) Title - World LUG map update/upgrade Purpose - To update the information held on Lugnet relating to AFOL organisations and ensure it can be easily kept up to date Co-ordinator - Todd Lehman (...) Well, It's been discussed before, but never done (I think), although some websites have attempted to do one. I'm talking of course about a Minifig Database Complete with sets in which they come, pictures of printing details, name, number of parts (...) (21 years ago, 10-Apr-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) If LUGNET code is made open source, I'd be interested in working on implementing changes. Also, I would suggest using a bug tracking system like Bugzilla, rather than just posts in the lugnet suggestions group, to track issues. --Bill. (21 years ago, 12-Apr-04, to lugnet.admin.general)
