| | Re: the latest news
|
| (...) I think that if N can be defined by the users, this would work well. I personally think that if even one person rates a message that some information is better than none. However that's just me, and I think that new users would like to have N (...) (24 years ago, 18-Apr-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

| (...) Currently, you're right. The rating system allows me to rate the "little guys" with good opinions up and the loud guys just blowing off steam down. Without ratings, whoever posts the most often gets seen the most. With ratings, I could (...) (24 years ago, 19-Apr-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

My basement has more DIMWTs in it, see? 1 - Star Trek quotes, and/or mild profanity somewhat bowdlerised... you decide which I was referring (...) (25 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

I only read your post AFTER Larry's reply so I could get it, (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

| In lugnet.admin.general, Todd Lehman writes: (Some snipping here, read Todd's post) (...) I think a combination of these could work well. The ratings could be hidden from public view, so that noone feels like they are being punished, and the server (...) (24 years ago, 20-Apr-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

| | Did I read that yet?
|
| Todd, I've heard some requests for this before, and I'd like to revisit it. Can we get some sort of flag to show whether we've read a message or not? When I go to another computer, flush out my cache, switch from Netscape to IE, etc, I can't tell if (...) (24 years ago, 20-Apr-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
