  Re: What am I missing?

Hi all, luckily I am using Macs myself - unfortunately I didn't notice this issue since I personally prefer Firefox over Safari on Mac OS X. Anyway, I tried everything myself and narrowed the issue down to the primary cookie being created - the (...) (16 years ago, 1-Mar-09, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.faq, FTX)

Wish You All a Merry Little Christmas...

Dear Friends of LUGNET, 2008 is nearing its end, and I would like to take the time to thank you all for your enthusiasm in being a part of the AFOL community in general and LUGNET in particular. For you and your families, loved ones and friends, I (...) (16 years ago, 23-Dec-08, to lugnet.announce) !

Re: Getting my set list from Peeron to Lugnet

(...) Hi all, if the additional year column is all of an issue here, I could figure out two approaches: - we revert back to when there was no year column. The downside being, you won't have that valuable piece of information in the list anymore. - (...) (16 years ago, 18-Dec-08, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Temporary Outages Today...

Hi all, depending on from where in the world you connect to the net, you may have experienced access issues with LUGNET today, starting around 7 a.m. GMT and lasting to approx. 3 p.m. GMT (literally as I write this). The reason for this was a (...) (16 years ago, 21-Nov-08, to lugnet.announce)

  Re: Chopped of message

(...) Hi Mike, exact same thing - since it was just a word that was misaligned I maybe just didn't see it upon first glance. It's fixed now - however I figure that's something that should be dealt with differently. I'll have a look... Regards, Jerry (16 years ago, 13-Nov-08, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Hi Mike, it appears that the cause was a pretty minor formatting error: The last line in the respective bullet point lacked the two-blank indentation that all the other lines had. After inserting the missing indentation, the message displays (...) (16 years ago, 13-Nov-08, to lugnet.admin.general)

Much as I appreciate the idea and work you put into it, I am afraid that while lawyers usually can be particularly imaginative when it comes to identifying cases of brand name infringement, they can be particularly unimaginative when it comes (...)   LUGNET 10th Anniversary

Hi all, I had been notified about this earlier but unfortunately missed the date as well: Widely unnoticed, LUGNET had it's 10th anniversary (if counted from the 1st news post logged in the system) on September 28th, 2008. I would like to take this (...) (16 years ago, 30-Sep-08, to lugnet.announce) !!

  Re: Server maintenance tonight

Hi all, just a quick note: All is well ;) The maintenance took about an hour, so most of you probably didn't even notice. Thanks for your understanding, Jerry (16 years ago, 29-Aug-08, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Server maintenance tonight

Hi all, due to a disk failure on the main LUGNET server's RAID, we need to take the machine offline tonight at 0:00 CEST. Since this is not the first disk failure we are observing, the machine will undergo some testing, so there may be some (...) (16 years ago, 28-Aug-08, to lugnet.announce)

Re: Change in handling of real names on LUGNET web pages?

(...) No, because the news server is unaware of membership and profiles. That's why posting through NNTP always requires the email authentication process. However, individuals' names and profile data are not an issue with NNTP anyway - apparently (...) (16 years ago, 27-Aug-08, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Change in handling of real names on LUGNET web pages?

Hi all, recently we receive quite a number of requests from individual users to have their real names and/or profile pages removed from search engine result pages. We realize that some of you probably would rather not see their names on such pages (...) (16 years ago, 27-Aug-08, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

I'm quite an active networker, too, and on all these "modern" platforms you find - among all that clutter - some desirable features that might be worthwhile (...)
