  OT: some fun

One night when his charge was pretty high, Micro-Farad decided to seek out a cute little coil to let him discharge. He picked up Milli-Amp and took her for a ride on his Megacycle. They rode across the Wheatstone bridge, around the sine waves, and (...) (23 years ago, 26-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  IR at RTL9

Hi everyone, I have a few questions about IR. It seems that we are going to be seeing a lot of multiple RCX robots at the next event. This is great, but I was really wanting to do proximity detection (which requires IR). Since the other robot(s) (...) (23 years ago, 2-May-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Ir and proximity detection

Hi everyone, We in Toronto are going to be having another robotics competition soon. Our new rules allow for multiple Rcx robots. This means that they will have to send IR signals back and forth to communicate. Unfortunately, I was really wanting to (...) (23 years ago, 2-May-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  generating waves

Hi from Germany, I need some help for generating a sqare wave with the Handyboard. The frequency should be 16kHz at least. And the number of peeks must be countable. I only could made a 1kHz symmetrical square wave with low=high=0,5ms. For that I (...) (23 years ago, 10-May-01, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

The RCX receiver is a standard IR unit tuned to the carrier frequency. when I look a the signal on my scope, I get a nice square-shaped wave that is the same as the data byte (with start and stop bits) (...)   RE: Custom Firmware, IR Problems, and Dead RCXs

(...) Ummm, that doesn't make sense. You know where the midpoint is by knowing the baud rate, and hence the bit width. The only time you need to sample at the beginning of the bit time is to look for a start bit. This is all very basic asynchronous (...) (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Custom Firmware, IR Problems, and Dead RCXs

(...) Actually, it's the computer itself that determines the duty cycle. This does mean that you could change the duty cycle, but you should be aware that it would be at the expense of noise immunity and would require a higher sampling rate from the (...)
