| | Re: New LEGO Universe Tradition Card Game coming
|
| (...) Editing goes against "the newsgroup spirit", which was a big deal to Todd... (and maybe that means the implementation of editing would be hard, I have no idea) But cancellation, if by the author, does not go against that spirit, in my view. (...) | | Re: Add book to database?
|
| (...) Who me? :) Ya probably. But it is what it is. (...) Is there any rule that could be used to assign a number that fits the size limit but that is sure not to be a LEGO set number? All the set numbers in the DB are nnnn-1 or nnnn-2 (rarely) (...) (14 years ago, 26-Jul-10, to lugnet.admin.database)

| | Re: Taking shortcuts
|
| (...) I'm not worried about disk space so much as I am worried about render/move/edit time. Unnecessary polygons, even after being read in and converted into internal models, take time to process. I think you can see the difference in POVray render (...) (14 years ago, 21-Jul-10, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.cad)

| (...) Oh, we're playing "first PC", eh? My first PC had *no* floppies, just a cassette, until I added a floppy at horrendous expense. 80K capacity each... Foolishly, I bought 2. For the longest time, whatever year it was, a pretty good PC seemed to (...) (14 years ago, 20-Jul-10, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

| | Re: Add book to database?
|
| (...) Have you considered using the ISBN? It's a lot of digits but it's a known quantity. One issue is that if there is a "second edition" I think it will get a different ISBN if the content is in any way different. But that's analogous to the (...) | | Re: Toy Story Train comments?

| (...) Most folk call this a "tender", since it carries water as well (and often, fuel oil rather than coal if the engine is an oil burner) (...) If weight helps you may have some binding in the driver mechanism somewhere. (...) Steam engines are (...) (14 years ago, 3-Jun-10, to lugnet.trains, FTX) !

| (...) I agree with Tim and Philippe, please do not stop. I would be willing to bet the emailer is looking for a way to unsubscribe rather than finding fault with your (quite topical) posts. (15 years ago, 25-May-10, to lugnet.cad)

| | Re: The future of LDraw?

| (...) Nod. But if the people responsible for LUGNET don't want it to gradually fade away and become even less relevant, changes are needed. Without them, other sections won't return either. I note that there's a facebook discussion group started on (...) (15 years ago, 21-Mar-10, to lugnet.cad)
