Re: New LEGO Universe Tradition Card Game coming

(...) Editing goes against "the newsgroup spirit", which was a big deal to Todd... (and maybe that means the implementation of editing would be hard, I have no idea) But cancellation, if by the author, does not go against that spirit, in my view. (...)   Re: Enter the LEGO(R) Design Challenge

(...) "We" have two of our own, at least, working as designers (in Pierre N and Jamie B) so I think there is little danger of the designers running out of creative juices. But ya. (14 years ago, 29-Jul-10, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

  Re: Add book to database?

(...) Who me? :) Ya probably. But it is what it is. (...) Is there any rule that could be used to assign a number that fits the size limit but that is sure not to be a LEGO set number? All the set numbers in the DB are nnnn-1 or nnnn-2 (rarely) (...) (14 years ago, 26-Jul-10, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Taking shortcuts

(...) I'm not worried about disk space so much as I am worried about render/move/edit time. Unnecessary polygons, even after being read in and converted into internal models, take time to process. I think you can see the difference in POVray render (...) (14 years ago, 21-Jul-10, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Taking shortcuts

(...) Oh, we're playing "first PC", eh? My first PC had *no* floppies, just a cassette, until I added a floppy at horrendous expense. 80K capacity each... Foolishly, I bought 2. For the longest time, whatever year it was, a pretty good PC seemed to (...) (14 years ago, 20-Jul-10, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) Yes, Rob's pretty clever, all right. Tons of good stuff! I think the neatest thing (so far?) he's cooked up is actually the joint project with BrickForge to make streetlights that work. He's doing the electronics and BrickForge did a (...) (14 years ago, 18-Jul-10, to lugnet.org.ca.obb, lugnet.general, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.parts.mod, FTX) !

  Re: Add book to database?

(...) Have you considered using the ISBN? It's a lot of digits but it's a known quantity. One issue is that if there is a "second edition" I think it will get a different ISBN if the content is in any way different. But that's analogous to the (...) (...) (from the writeup) (...) Not to quibble, but I think the yellow fuel pipes are OCTAN gonal, er, octagonal, rather than hexagonal as you said. Could be wrong of course. (14 years ago, 3-Jul-10, to lugnet.space, lugnet.off-topic.pun, FTX)
