  Re: What was the question?

(...) The question was: who, if anyone, will be profiting from this event. I started with the assumption that no one would be profiting, since I was going by David's message. After reading Bryan's email, I thought he was saying that he and Adam (...) (18 years ago, 18-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)

Re: BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) The word "profit" was Joe's: The total profit that went to BrickJournal Media LLC was about $13,000. This is in addition to the $3,000 that went to AMH Productions for use of the BrickFest name, as determined by an agreement that was signed in (...)   Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) I don't think making money from an AFOL event is tantamount to "screwing us hobbyists" - but I also don't think it's right to make money from an event without telling volunteers and attendees what their time, effort, and money is going (...)   Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) I understand that non-profits pay their workers - my wife works for one! But non-profits don't have 'owners' who can lay claim to any extra funds; they are run by boards who are obligated to use those funds to further the goals of the (...)   Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) It has also been answered several ways: 1. (URL): You also asked about money. Bryan and Adam are assuming the financial risk (and its large) for the event. And, while the event is not being created to make money there is the possibility that (...) (18 years ago, 17-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)

Re: Anyone up for a big castle Brickwars over break?

Yeah, I'd love to play a giant Medival Brikwars. I don't know about the timing though. We are having a meeting of WAMALUG next weekend (the 9th I think). Planning for that may be short notice. Unfortunately, I go live with a huge system at work over (...) (24 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: Brickshelf.com – A Possible Solution

(...) You don't think Brickshelf brought a lot of people into (or back into) the hobby? How much does TLG spend to send two pages of MOC pictures to people all over the world (via the magazine)? Marc Nelson Jr. (17 years ago, 16-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

10) Continual information leaks on upcoming LEGO sets/themes. (Corporate Security) Is this something TLG is concerned about or something AFOLs are concerned about?   Re: Brickshelf.com – A Possible Solution

Why doesn't TLG run a gallery for AFOLs? Yes, there's a (URL) sort of gallery> on LEGO.com, but it's an unbrowsable mess filled with 10-year-olds posting images they stole from Ed Boxer. Have any of the Ambassadors discussed this with the company? I (...) (17 years ago, 16-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) Plus, it just looks cool! Nice work, Magnus. The landing gear is quite clever; just looking at the first couple pics, it doesn't even seem like it's there. How is the tail rotor held on?
