| | Re: LEGO Queen Mary 2 - Making-of
|
| (...) That has nothing to do with the confusion between short (US) tons and long (imperial) tons, which was what led us here. (...) ROFL!! I had hoped you'd realise I was being humourous, or maybe you did and decided to bite anyway, in which case (...) (15 years ago, 8-Jun-09, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

| | Re: LEGO Ambassador Cycle 7 now open
|
| (...) So are we nominating anyone to represent the LUGNET community or is the group on here fragmented enough that we're just planning to have the respective LUG's and LTC's nominate people? Speaking of which...I'm hoping there is some discussion on (...) (15 years ago, 6-Jun-09, to lugnet.people)

| | Re: LEGO Queen Mary 2 - Making-of
|
| (...) Hi Travis, well, it weighs a lot :-) In fact, it's something about 850 to 900 kilograms. The metric ton is 1000kg, but if I'm right, the imperial unit "ton" should be a little bit more than 900kg (2000lbs). I built many parts of the (...) (15 years ago, 3-Jun-09, to lugnet.boats, FTX)

| | Re: Looking for dimensions of LEGO bricks.
|
| (...) YRW :-) In a book of LEGO history I read, it was explicitely stated that the original inch based measures were changed to mm. I don't remember which year, but it was a long time ago. The distance between two studs is 8 mm. (15 years ago, 25-May-09, to lugnet.cad)

| | Re: Kmart Toy sale
|
| I have just seen in the Target toy sale catalogue (starting 23 July) that they have 10193 (Castle Medieval Market Village) but there is no price listed. This is a set I have been hoping would come out in the sales (although I thought I was being (...) (15 years ago, 29-Jun-09, to lugnet.loc.au)

| (...) Yeah that's just a bit more confusion that imperial measures brought us. It's all explained (URL). Good think all the sensible countries are moving to metric ;) ROSCO (15 years ago, 6-Jun-09, to lugnet.boats, FTX)

| | Re: Looking for dimensions of LEGO bricks.

| (...) That's hardly some freak coincidence. The original 1949 Lego brick was an unauthorized copy of the Kiddicraft Self-Locking Building Brick, invented by an Englishman named Hilary Page. When the Christiansens got samples of them from the British (...) (15 years ago, 28-May-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

| | Re: Peeron_to_MLCad
|
| That is pretty neat! It is kind of like getting a LEGO set in all digital form. All you need to do is put it together. I'll have to give this a try as soon as a I have some time. Thanks, Scott W. (15 years ago, 5-May-09, to lugnet.cad.dev)
