Re: "Glass switch" for dept store window train display

(...) What about the Mindstorms Vision Command? That would be a nearly 'all Lego' solution - other than the pc required to run the software... ;-) I've got one, but I haven't played with it yet. I'm sure the other GMLTC members will find many (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: real lego layout

(...) The GMLTC can certainly vouch for that! We have hundreds of thousands of pieces, and we still worry about running out of bricks. Our standard rallying cry is "We need more bricks!" JohnG, GMLTC (24 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: GMLTC going 8 wide

(...) EXCUSE ME????? What sort of revisionist history rewrite is this???? John Neal whined for months for the GMLTC to go 8-wide instead of 6-wide. And after we couldn't take his whining anymore we broke down and voted 'yes'. And NOW he wants us to (...) (24 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Best adhesive for bricks / ABS?

(...) When I worked at the LEGO Imagination Center, we used the 'Super Glue' brand on Technic pieces. I don't know how well it will stand up to the tension though. Put a small drop inside the connector, then push the axle in. This way any excess (...) (24 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.build)

Re: a couple of 8-wide train pictures

(...) The motors are not symmetrical - if they're on the 'wrong' way they hang up on the stairs. It's a *very* close fit! And I have no idea if it will handle the grades that the GMLTC is planning for our next layout... JohnG, GMLTC (24 years ago, 15-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: For the history books -- LUG & LTC dates of formation

(...) What date are you looking for here? If you're looking for the date the 'club' started displaying LEGO trains at shows, it would be sometime in the mid 1980s. When most of the group started getting together? 1993. When we started having any (...) (24 years ago, 7-Oct-00, to lugnet.org)

(...) I asked James the same question, he sent me this link: (URL) it's the camera car. The GMLTC wants to do something similar, I purchased a very small video camera that we want to hide inside one of our locomotives. I'm not sure where we'll hide (...)   For the history books -- LUG & LTC dates of formation

I am starting a list of local users group and clubs. I want it to be as complete as possible and for the history books (and, aw heck, for charts and graphs someday) I'd like to include the official dates of formation of each group/club.
