Re: Mryland & Pennsylvania Passenger Train

As expected, when I see your builds, they are so well done. I really like seeing everything you design and create. Those passenger cars look so perfect. Thank you. Eric Sophie Legomaster Biomechanical Bricks (15 years ago, 2-Aug-09, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Great to see someone come out of their "dark age", even though it was relatively short compared to others. I has a short dark age myself. Guess I never could get over building spaceships. :) (...) Ha! Same here! I got a fresh copy of the 2002 (...) (23 years ago, 14-Apr-02, to lugnet.people)

Re: Beating up, kicking, and verbally abusing an old dead rotted horse...

(...) It is indeed written using MFC, which it makes extensive use of for the GUI. Porting it to another platform would take considerable effort. I think what I'm going to do first is get the source code into a package I can release (and archive!) (...) (16 years ago, 6-Nov-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

(...) For me, the great think about Track Designer is that it runs just fine under the Wine Windows emulator. I've used it that way under my X86-64 Linux machine for several layouts, including working on NALUG layouts for train shows. I've never (...)   New Holland LS150 Skid Steer Loader

I have just completed my skidsteer loader. I'm really pleased with it. Driven by 2 XL motors, lift uses 1 M motor and tip uses 1 M motor. It is very powerful and nicely balanced: to the rear when unloaded, and to the front when loaded. I was able to (...) (16 years ago, 12-Nov-08, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Open the source code! My guess is that's the best thing which can be done. Set up a open source project, and even if nobody contributes immediately, maybe a day... and of course you can still develop it (and the source code will never be lost (...) (...) Well, back when I was searching high and low for it, we wanted to intigrate the source in with visual basic to control our switching and such on the layout. Its great that you've found this gem even if it was 5 years later. I still have a (...) (16 years ago, 5-Nov-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

(...) Nice work Steve. Ive always like your 6 wide models. I even built myself copy of your (URL) D&RGW engine>. Very nice use of color and great design. Many of these would make awsome LEGO sets. Cale (URL) (16 years ago, 28-Oct-08, to lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) If Matt or someonelse rewrite the code (open sourced or not) I would suggest to use a framework that is available to most of the OS like Qt or GTk. That way it would be really easy to port to all OS not just the most known. Wine is working (...) (16 years ago, 6-Nov-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

If you're interested, take a look at my old Rayshade libraries that made the bricks from scratch using CSG. I'm especially fond of the L3G0 40-tooth technic gear. (...) That is great news, Track Designer is very useful, I use it all the time when I do a LEGO train show as I have a different layout for each show. It still works very well but it would be nice to see a few enhancements. David (16 years ago, 5-Nov-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)
