Does LDD's LDraw importer actually work?

I recently had a Bricksmith user write asking for help importing an LDraw file into LDD. (He was using LDraw because LDD made it very difficult to build his model.) But when he attempts to import the LDraw file, he sees at most the first brick of (...) (15 years ago, 22-Mar-10, to lugnet.cad.ldd, FTX)

(...) Thanks Eric. All this sounds interesting, however you may have to guide me some of the way here. (...) That's 100% fair, and I wouldn't expect them to base any policy decisions on a platform that hasn't changed in 13+ years. The number of people who still use it as their primary interface can probably be counted on one hand. The main reason (...) (15 years ago, 20-Mar-10, to lugnet.cad)

Voting for old sets in new colors (WAS: Re: $Here’s the Deal$)

  RE: I need technic!!!...!!!

I would agree here. The last few years have all been large car kits. I think there could be more construction equipment. I think we could have large and complex farm equipment also. I love the space shuttle (8480) I think they could do a large (...) (22 years ago, 3-Aug-02, to lugnet.technic)

(...) The "new 8866 motor" is just the same motor as found in 9v RC trains that have been out for a year or so. It SHOULD be capable of being powered as you suggest, 9v jumper wire to a 9v track powered motor (but I haven't tried so no promises). I (...) (15 years ago, 13-Jun-09, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
