Re: The sky is *not* falling

(...) This is a very, very pressing issue. And for me, also, it is preventing me from buying any new sets in the future. It is disturbing that the excuse used for new colors was that Lego today is too dark and depressing. The reason for that is not (...) (21 years ago, 13-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego)

  Zeum Event (last minute notes)

Here's the close-to-final plans for the Sunday 10/14 event. I think it's just me, Paul S., and maybe Eric McCarthy (and family?) Will anybody else be there to help? I have some spare LEGOs to build with, and I'll be digging for some wheels and (...) (23 years ago, 13-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

(...) Hey, that's fine by me! (...) Unless it affects me and our group. Your letters to Lego whining about the colour of bricks paint EVERY AFOL. Some of us don't want to make a fuss, because it's not enough of an issue in our minds. (...) You see (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Wanted - 404 set black roof peak and blue T-bar

(...) I don't think that a part like this ever produced. It must be combination of several parts. I never heard of a "x" roof peak brick, although it is possible to make one by using 3 bricks instead (two 3049s and a 3041). Look at : (2 URLs) (...)   Re: LEGO Company Welcomes Adult LEGO Enthusiasts

My concern is this: If I design a set and post it, and it's extremely popular, what do I gain from it? Will LEGO give me a royalty on it? Will they instead reward me with bricks? Publicity? A job? If I submit my own design and stand to lose my (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: what makes a legend?

(...) Changes that keep the spirit and character of a set 'alive' are fine (i.e. the wheels and the hollow studs on the minifig head). To use another's example, making a #375/6075 Yellow Castle with the various wall bricks are not. I'd have to go (...) (23 years ago, 21-Oct-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Wonderful vintage [Samsonite 1971] LEGO just arrived -- what a treat!

(SORRY, NO PHOTOS AT THIS TIME!) I just received a box of vintage LEGO which I purchased on eBay. It is set 120, the Samsonite Gift Set from ca. 1971.
