  Re: what makes a legend?

Hi Brad, I think Matthew has pretty much got it bang on here - I agree that the helicopter instructions were great in the Mania magazine. The new version of the model had the same spirit as the original one, even though some of the bricks were (...) (23 years ago, 19-Oct-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Opinion: Lego Castle Knockoffs

The set was from Larami which is now Coko which is a clone of both Tyco and Lego. The horses and wheels are almost exactly the same as those of Tyco. The bricks are Lego copies and much better quality than MB. I have over 60 Coko Knights from (...) (23 years ago, 16-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Show Report - NovaLUG at 2 day show in Dartmouth Nova Scotia

2 DAY SHOW - NOV. 20-21, 2004 This was Novalug's 3rd show at the Dartmouth Sportsplex. All six members and two guests participated. Owen sent his Grand Central Station (which many of us decided might be worth buying, luckily TRU just put it on sale) (...)   Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

Thanks for taking the time to ask for our views. I have not personally seen the new colors yet, but I can understand where folks are coming from. They see a discontinuance of an existing (and well used) set of colors. Likewise folks see a long road (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

Jake, Thank-you for asking. I am very much in favor of TLG bringing back the old colors. The cornerstone of the Lego System is compatibility. The idea that set elements can be combined. Colors are every bit as much a part of the Lego System as stud (...) (21 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Bummer of the Week: LEGO Made in China

I experienced two LEGO "firsts" a couple of weeks ago - I visited the local Zany Brainy store for the first time to check out their LEGO selection and while there I discovered the first sets that I had seen stamped with the words I cringe at, "MADE (...)   Re: Blood Stone Castle completed!

First things first, words cannot describe the supercalafragalespie...aladocious quality of this amazing LEGO castle. This is what LEGO should be all about, letting people create large models by making cheap bulk orders available. But the other thing (...) (25 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

Hi Jake, I'm not exactly a huge poster here on lugnet, but I am a collector of huge amounts of lego. I only got back into lego a couple of years ago so I no doubt don't have the collections other folks here do. I strongly oppose the colour change. (...)   Selling my entire Lego collection (actual set list with asking price this time)

Hello again everyone! I posted a message last week that I was a 30 year old in Kansas City selling his entire $20,000 Lego collection.   Re: Fence colours

Ah yes! The proverbial lattice fence pieces. Others have already described the 2 different styles. Actually there are 5 different Lattice styles (that I'm aware of) since they first came onto the scene circa 1968. For the 1x4 and 2x4 sizes Joshua (...)
