The four of us in our very LEGO household use mass quantities of light gray and dark gray - we buy more bulk bricks and plates in these two colors than all others combined. Iain, How much power do you want for the electromagnets, and how rapidly do you need to switch them on and off? Relax, then rush out and get some of these new colors, and look at them side by side with your old colors. The grays are different. I like them. Three things: 1. I don't think anyone objects to additional colors, they object to color replacement with a different colors. 2. You might well be in a minority in not minding a mottled look to your MOCs, I think many others would be more than (...) (21 years ago, 15-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)
