Re: Cutting "Moon surface" baseplate? (Was: 8x16 baseplate colors?)

(...) Note that Brasso takes off permanent marker pretty good, of course I think the area inside the craters is somewhat textured so it may be more work, but I agree, cut up a 48x48 baseplate before you cut up anything else. (24 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: Is there any way to get pre-applied graphics off of pieces without damaging them?

(...) Yep. Brasso is the popular one among AFOLs. Personally I haven't tried yet. Lack of time and pieces that need print- removal (that's a good thing, I guess :) Search keyword 'brasso' for previous posts about best ways to use it... Good Luck! (...) (25 years ago, 4-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Quarter-dome UFO Hulls, No Print

(...) I use Brasso and a soft cloth or paper towel, and a lot of patience...it leaves traces and gives "grain" to the shine of the piece, but the end result isn't too bad. It's not, however, quite as nice as the originally-unprinted UFO panels as a (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  'Häxan' funkar på Lego!

Efter alla lugnet-trådar om 'Brasso' eller vad det nu heter, gjorde jag ett litet experiment ikväll. Jag tog fram en gammal sliten, grådaskig vindruta, som man inte gärna satte i någon modell, och plockade fram 'Häxans' koppar/mässingsputs. Gno, (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.se)

Re: Textured bricks that look like bricks?

(...) It is possible, given brasso and elbow grease, to remove the texture from roof tiles. I discovered this by accident, when I removed the printing from several low slopes. (...) One face? That'd be okay for buildings without corners, I guess. (...) (22 years ago, 28-Nov-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Spray Paint Gone Awry - Need Help

I'd recommend Nevr-Dull because Brasso is too abrasive. Nevr-Dull will leave the glossy finish of new bricks and remove paint quite quickly. It's great for removing paint from prepainted pieces, so fresh paint like yours should be even easier. Dave (...) (21 years ago, 25-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Clearing up scratches on pieces

(...) There is an alternative to the brasso, especially if you are merely trying to do away with scratches and not trying to remove print. The key, FUTURE's Floor Wax. It has been used by model airplane builders forever. Check it out here (URL) Kam (18 years ago, 23-Feb-07, to lugnet.parts, lugnet.space)
