I use Brasso and a soft cloth or paper towel, and a lot of patience...it leaves
traces and gives "grain" to the shine of the piece, but the end result isn't too
bad. It's not, however, quite as nice as the originally-unprinted UFO panels as
a whole, which is only found in the Interstellar Starfighter, an $80 set. If you
don't have a problem with a slightly worn (but still shiny) look, Brasso buffing
will probably do the trick. I have four *large* panels that are now unprinted,
and the only way you can tell they're not new is to put them right next to a new
pair and notice the way the light shines off them.
...but if you demand *new* and pristine, I've got 7 of these particular sets, and
I might be willing to let a pair go--but only for trade or for more than $10,
because I've been offered $15 a pair before. I'm looking for:
a) Train doors, any colour except red;
b) Solar Power Collector 4x4x6 quarter-window corner thingies (very odd
pieces), which are probably a pipe dream for me to get;
c) Technic crane bits;
d) Classic Space logo bits, BT-I logo bits, Exploriens logo bits;
e) Anything Imperial Guards (flags, soldiers, et cetera).
For these items, on which the "bwahaha factor" (thanks Larry) is pretty high,
I'll trade pretty much anything. Let me know what you're willing to trade and we
can work something out.
best,
Lindsay
