Re: Very strange server behavior today

(...) Oh, please no. The web interface has no way to keep track of read posts other than your browser's memory of visited URLs. No web based forum has yet to provide the flexibility to keep track of what I have read and what I have not read (and (...) (16 years ago, 22-Aug-08, to lugnet.admin.general)

[Derek Healy] spake unto the ether: (...) This is just an idea skeleton, but not too hard to flesh out, if you've worked with TTL. The Handy Board memory map maps some upper 32K addresses to I/O "ports". Look at the schematic and you can see which (...) (25 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Steve, I agree, the Turing test is not up to date, and even in its time did not indicate intelligence accurately, though I would go so far as to say that those intelligent programs that might pass the Turing test won't pass the test of demonstrating (...) (...) Flash memories all have a limited number of write cycles before they become unreliable. Usually, the on-chip write controller will "load-balance" the writes so that different memory locations all get used the same number of times, (...) (18 years ago, 12-Dec-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  68hc12?

I'm currently assemblying a handyboard and came across some literature for Motorola's 68HC12 microcontroller. The one thing that attracted me to it is its built in memory-mapping capabilities.   Re: Batteries?

re: rechargeables (...) That is the problem with NiCd rechargeables. By the time the battery low detector kicks in, it is often too late. And they have a 'memory' so you do want to run them down periodically. They are not recommended for the (...) (26 years ago, 1-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)
