well, no. It's easy to get it to turn on, but it doesn't stay on. It flickers. I'm sure it can be controlled (because it's used to send data) but just using OnFwd(OUT_C); causes it to flicker. I can understand wanting to better target the original intended audience, but consider this: Which versions of Trivial Pursuit came out first? The one for adults or the one for children/teens? Mindstorms missed their original intended target, yet (...) (22 years ago, 8-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Hey Ralph, is an implementation of pbForth on the Spybotics brick a future plan?. I think it would be really cool. (22 years ago, 27-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Spybotics $24.97 at Costco

For anyone looking for a deal on the Spybotics sets. I just picked up 4 of them at Costco for $24.97 each. Certainly is the best deal I have found for these new sets. Greg (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

I'm not sure if I'm setting it incorrectly, but it seems like the 'laser' on the spybot (motor out C) flickers, which is really bad when you're reading the light sensor. Is it possible to set it so it's always on? Steve ----- Original Message ----- (...) (22 years ago, 29-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

(...) No. The thing that makes Basic Lego a good toy for children is it's modularity. It's an open ended toy that they'll never reach the end of exploring. That's also true (although to a lesser extent) with the Mindstorms sets - but with this new (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics)

well I think that is a documentation problem. Its nice to learn children to program - but with out the right steps it might even be a catastrof - in the terms of future choices.
