| (...) I can confirm the Targus USB Bluetooth 2.0 adapter with EDR (model # ACB10US) works on the PC. $30 at Staples. The adapter is Mac-compatible, but I don't have a Mac to test the NXT connectivity. (18 years ago, 7-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)
