  Re: Curious problem with download

(...) I would have ascribed it to the USB to serial converter, but I also see this on the Sun with a real serial port. This is what makes me think it's a problem with my RCX or IR tower. Thanks, -Pete P.S. What you are thinking of is the stealth (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: How good is 8428

(...) I got the 8428 for the wheels too, and then I bought the 8462 as well. The 8428 is an okay set. The back end is very flimsy. It can barely hold together if you apply enough force to actually deflect the springs. If you try to drive this from (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

I'm in West LA. And you know what? I think I've met you before. Do you work at the UCLA Music Library? -Peter Merryman (one time employee of the UCLA Music Lib. Spec. Coll.) (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.la)

  Re: electromagnetic switcher engine

(...) I brought this idea up in lugnet.robotics a while ago. I'm interested in building an RCX controlled switch engine. The vague plans floating around in my head now involve cannibalizing a relay with the right specs to be driven by an RCX output (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: A large Steam Locomotive

The Chopper is a too big, but not ridiculous looking with minifigs in it. It only looks silly next to some of the other minifig choppers they have, which are way too small for the role they play. (Police choppers and med choppers are much larger (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.modelteam)

  Ping-Pong Ball Shooter

Ok, I've finally got a design that's working fairly well. I'm shooting balls more than 20 feet. I've put up a web site with pictures and LDraw files at (URL) Osborn FozzTexx Enterprises 707 226 7629 - Voice 2136 Coronado Ave. 707 581 1797 - Fax (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Curious problem with download

(...) downloading (...) I don't see any strange behaviour here; the hinky USB-to-serial interface is going to be your culprit. I had no problems using NQC on my PowerCenterPro (PowerComputing Macintosh clone) with a direct serial interface, but when (...) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Re: Can they do like this?

A couple of people have already given some good legal advice (like Kevin Loch). But when it comes down to it, they're not going to risk huge court expense and bad pr by actually doing anything about it. I would give them a nice friendly "screw you" (...)   SW LEGO lauded

The IGN website ran a story on SW LEGO. It includes pictures of the Ultimate Collectors models and all the new SW sets. They seem quite taken by it. The URL is below if anyone is interested. (URL) (26 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  RE: Home-made Light Bricks

I brought up the pulsing in connection with a de-multiplexer, not to avoid the resistor. If you just want to hook up a pair of LEDs to the RCX motor output, by all means, use a proper resistor, and use forward/stop/reverse settings only. Not using (...)   RE: A large Steam Locomotive

Well yes, a true minifig-scale train would be a nice size, but could it still be compatible with other Lego trains? Which existing Model Team sets do you feel are compatible with minifig scale?
