  Re: Website Updated

(...) Hmmm, loved the book, hated the previews for the movie. That's about as far as I've gotten... :-, Is Roughnecks a weekly show? Do you know where I might find it in the U.S.? Cheers, - jsproat (26 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Droid Developer Kit worthwhile?

The Droid developer kit certainly isnt worth it if you are a avid mindstorms user. It is desinged for younger children (officaly 9-12, but some 7 or 8 year old could do fine with it). For this it is a perfect set, easy to use and build but (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.microscout)

(...) Except for the instruction part number (see my original), yes. (In other words the steps are identical.). Interestingly, the version of 6923 on the 6710 (baseplate) packaging also has the hinge: -> (URL) a bit tricky to see from here. I might (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Droid Developer Kit worthwhile?

(...) The DDK is very disappointing. In my mind it marks a low-point in LEGO's consumer understanding - and the "Mindstorms" branding. The expansion sets were over-priced and under-delivered on their (our) expectations for the RIS, but the DDK is (...) (26 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.microscout)

  Re: rotation sensor mystery solved?

(...) I tried hacking something like this into the old rotation sensor code, and it didn't go real smoothly, but is definitely a necessity (I think) if you want the sensor to handle very, very high speed apps.
