One other interesting thing, I haven't checked it out for sure yet, but the baseplate has an extra rim which looks like it will make it the same thinkness as a plate instead of slightly thinner. This is also the case for the baseplate in Belville (...) (25 years ago, 12-Jan-00, to lugnet.scala)

(...) System bricks do connect to DUPLO, but only 2xY bricks, fairly secure (the tube fits into the hollow in the DUPLO stud).
