  Re: New Website

Very, very nice debut. Very well thought out and designed, and excellent models, with a wry sense of humor. :-) Can't wait to see more. Ed commented on the resolution. I don't mind it too much - it's not hard to switch down to 640 x 480. You asked (...) (27 years ago, 30-Oct-98, to lugnet.build, lugnet.publish)

  debug help

I just finished adding the motor output circuit to my HB. I have built and tested the interface board. I connected the interface board to the HB to download the test code to test the HB and I keep getting the "wrong port or board mode" error. Not (...)   Re: Other LCDs

(...) I just did this. First you need the source code for IC, the compiler, and apparently Unix since the source code requires some pre-processing and the script to do that works under Unix (which I don't have). An alternative method requires the (...) (27 years ago, 30-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IR Detection

Transmission and reception of IR data is quite different from using IR just to bounce it off obstacles to detect their presence. To exchange data with IR you will almost certainly have to use interrupt driven assembler code which can be very (...) (27 years ago, 30-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  FS: Set #6979 Interstellar Starfighter

Thanks to everyone that responded to my previous post for this set. I just picked up a couple more of these sets, but not at quite the same discount :( I am offering them for sale at $46.00 each, this price does includes shipping so it should still (...)   Re: New Website

(...) Looks incredble so far. The photo loading speed was great (but I have a 155 connection). I'd like to see larger photos. The whole web site could be larger - it looks like ti 640x480 resolution. Consider going up to 600x800. Great designs, nice (...) (27 years ago, 30-Oct-98, to lugnet.build, lugnet.publish)

  Re: Mindstorms photo critique wanted

(...) Ah. The photos are already cropped from the originals. My white background was telling my light meter that I should expose for a shorter time than the model requires. I'll have to rig up some darker backgrounds. Good tip. This was also my (...) (27 years ago, 30-Oct-98, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: IR Detection

(...) Hi Will: What you say might be the reason for my problem hence I bought a matched IR emitter and detector pair from Radio Shack and tried the same thing. Here again, the emitter is sending the signal but the detector is not able to see it. I (...) (27 years ago, 30-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Motor output

(...) Well, I'm cheap ;^) I'm using the free version. I might be lured into buying the commercial version: I'd sure love to have structs and multidimensional vectors. I think I will miss function pointers... Is there any source coming with the (...) (27 years ago, 30-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IR Detection

(...) The Sharp IR detector is designed to respond only to modulated IR signals. The card from Radio Shack will indicate whether the LED is illuminated, but it won't tell you whether it's modulated at the proper frequency. Perhaps that could be the (...)   Re: 6462 & 6479 Reviews

  LEGO Video with special set

eBay lego sniping? Why it is a problem?

I'm both a seller and buyer of lego stuff on eBay, as I clear out some sets to make way for others. I fail to understand why people get upset over "sniping".
