  S@H Canada not so Lucky

Mark, I'm not sure when you ordered your upgrade, but here's my experience. I called the Canadaian S@H number today, Wed Dec 22, and got the typical voice mail choices. I then chose the English option for S@H and was connected with a friendly (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Happy LEGO Holiday and New Year Wish!

I will be away from my PC from now until Jan. 3. I hope all of you will have a Happy Holiday, and a safe New Millenium! Gary Istok (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: How old are you?

(...) Well, since you ask, 52. I'd never used LEGO before getting a Mindstorms kit, although I'd dabbled slightly in robotics before using the Erector/Meccano system. I got this after realizing that there was a strong web community and thus wide- (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Minitalia Lego sets (from Italy)

(...) Thanks Indranil, that is the window! Too bad TLG doesn't make these window styles, or at least some better variations that actually look like real windows. I am going to treasure that one window that I have. Gary Istok (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: ldraw.org General Update, Added Press & Awards

(...) :) (...) Sounds like a nice idea. The only think I see that might be strange about it is the feature article section IMO should focus on Lego CAD items, cool new LDraw stuff, new standards, etc. Steve, Jacob, and I were planning on putting up (...)   Re: Panaka is yellow?

Still, there are four thumbnail pictures from the movie towards the top of the instruction pages, and the human portrayed most clearly (in two of the (...)   Re: FIber-optic rotation sensor

It was not me to discover it, but it's definitely doable. You can use the fiber-optic device as a rotation sensor and it works pretty well. As Dennis and Phil said, the only point is that you cannot detect the direction, but in many cases you (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: How old are you?

(...) 24. I still have a suitcase full of Legos in the attic, but strangely I never really got into the Technic/Expert Builder stuff until very recently. I did, however, figure out all the neat things you could do movement-wise with regular legos; (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Panaka is yellow?

Dave, (...) I think that the Flash Speeder minifig is not Panaka. In the movie, the flash speeder was used in the first moments of the seizure of the castle / government building, and he was not driving it, and that is what IMHO TLC (TLG, LG, LC) (...)   How old are you?

I was just wondering how old most of the members in this forum are? I suspect most people active in Robotics as a hobby aren't children. I'm just about to turn 36, but I was dreaming about Lego Robots since I was 8. MG (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Panaka is yellow?

I'm sure the topic of race amongst mini-figures is an ancient one, but I just wanted to hear theories from the more informed AFOL's this time. I'm pretty sure TLG just wanted to circumvent any racial issues by making ALL the heads "yellow." There've (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)
