  Re: Powering trains w/ RCX

Yes RIS 1.5 costs $20 MORE than RIS1.0. It's a good thing I bought 9 RIS 1.0 and the 1.5 upgrade ;-) (...) -- | Tom Stangl, Technical Support Netscape Communications Corp | Please do not associate my personal views with my employer (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: My website to be in the next Technic Magazine?

Michael Do you happen to have details of how to join the UK Technic Club? Every time I go to LLW they never have any membership forms. BTW - congrats on getting in the mag... now if only we had a UK user group webpage you could link to :-) Neil. (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  2000 Lego at Target Cupertino

Last night I saw lots of 2000 Lego at Target in Cupertino on Stevens Creek (cross Street DeAnza). I managed to get out of there with only an A-Wing (which turned out to actually be quite a good set). They have all the Star Wars sets, some castle (...) (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: Giant Cruiser and MOC contest

Sorry if the contest rules were unclear. Some people think that the 3-month deadline is too long, so I will make it 2 mos., ending on March 1st. And no, I don't think my hotmail account will be able to store all of those images. Looks like I will (...) (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.space)

(...) With any luck, Lucas will refrain from any more Special Edition chop jobs... The soundtrack from TESB, and the suddenly moralized Greedo blaster shot scene, still make me cringe. Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Shopko sale

I checked out one of my local Shopko stores and there were a lot of sets on sale for 50% off. Most of them had aready been cleaned out but there were a few ninja and the larger adventurer sets left.   Re: Powering trains w/ RCX

Even if it was $0.20 by the time it is productized it is maybe $1.00. Multiply this by the quantity sold and you just save ~$500,000 (whatever the quantity is).   Re: Text to Speech capability on the RCX

(...) NQC can't drive the speaker directly. Using LegOS, you have binary control over the speaker output. Limited text to speech might be possible, but it will sound twangy at best. Worth a try though... -Kekoa (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  2000 LEGO

Hello all, If you haven't found some of the 2000 sets yet (especially the Star Wars sets), you might want to check the nearest Toys 'r Us.
