  Help with IR receive

I just added the Sharp IS1U621 to my handyboard. That is apparently a substitute for the ISU160. When I run the simple test program: while (1) {if (4 & peek(0x1000)) fd(0); else bk(0);} my lights continuously flicker. When I put my logic proble on (...)   RE: 2000 sets ?

(...) I sure hope so, but I haven't seen any mentioned in the 2000 set lists. At least I have the Star Wars Collector's sets to look forward to (and the Technic droids). Doug p.s. For anyone who cares, I've added four new links on my Model Team (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.modelteam)

  Re: Arctic 2000

Hey...who cares if Arctic is listed using the town numbering system? It seems we AFOL's have no problem trashing offerings from TLG ( read all the criticism of the millenium falcon in the star wars group) I say lets have an arctic group. It would be (...)   Re: 4565 is $50 off at Zany Brainy

(...) after (...) Just found out that Zany Brainy has a 20% off one LEGO item sale starting this Sunday. Does anyone know whether this can be combined with the 4565 at $99 offer? Also, somewhat off-topic, how long will the Shuttles be marked down to (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Review of 6575 Polar Base

(...) <big snip> The tracks on the snowcat were seen in 1999 on the Spaceport 6456. They were on the lauchpad transport unit. They are MUCH slower moving than the Technic series tracks, but also much smaller. You could motorize them, but you would (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: making your own LEGO parts

(...) I am at art school and we have just won a grant to purchase one of these units at around the $200,000 mark (Australian) Previously we had to send our files away for production at a cost of around $1000 (Aus) per item depending on size. The (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) division (...) It was just a thought, since I can't figure any way to incorporate an Arctic theme to my town sets. It's just completely out there, you know. I suppose I am making mini-fig class divisions now, but my pizza chef has nothing to (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Acronym definition?

(...) The only thing that comes to my mind is Invisible Infra Red Control....of course...that's just a wild guess as I have no idea the context it is being used in. Pat (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: What to start out with?

(...) #8286 pre-dates some of the "new" style steering parts shown in the book. There's a listing of the parts in #8286 at: (URL) pretty sure it has some steering parts, but not the exact ones used by the book. I didn't see a differential listed, so (...)   Acronym definition?

Can somebody please tell me what "IIRC" means? I keep seeing it and can't, for the life of me, figure out what it stands for. I even tried to find it in the recent "dictionary of terms" that someone pointed out, but it wasn't in there. Thanks, in (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Do you like monorails?

(...) Heh, here in Canada. Myself (28) and my wife (31) go buy lego all the time. We get asked the same questions. "Oh, is this for your ____?" Nope, I say it's for my Wife. GRIN. She has almost every Castle set ever. She has all the Adventurers (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Motor-powered 8880??

I know I asked this question a bit earlier this month, but it was in a message specifically on modified 8880's and I thought a more descriptive title might get more response. Has anyone ever added 9-v motors to an 8880 and gotten it to move? I have (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic)
