Added all the Minifigs from 7150 to E-Bay & Updated Parts Auction (7150 & 7171)

To All; I have posted several parts lots to E-Bay for my roommate Tony. He has a few extra sets he wants to sell off, so he wants to post all the parts on E-bay of the 7171 Mos Espa Podrace. Since he does not have access to a credit card, I get to (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: When is "Not an Auction" really an auction?

I'm with you. These are auctions. However, the powers that be have already ruled that single round sealed bid auctions are OK for b-s-t. Sorry, all my shrubbery is in use at the moment. (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

  RE: More Directional transmissions...

(...) I think you want a gear that engages in only one direction of rotation. It should disconnect (or idle) when turned the other way. I haven't thought this all the way through, but I suspect you might be able to use a pair of differentials. You (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: External Power Port Problem..?

(...) I wonder if this is why the power port has disappeard from the Mindstorms 1.5... The suspicion is, that the genuine supply has a relatively high internal resistance, and therefore 'current limits' if a lot is drawn from the motor outputs, (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Un SACCO di cose sul sito ItLUG

(...) Direi che la primissima versione blu e` rossa, pero` con la scritta con il font LEGO, e` quella che preferisco. E quindi per quella voto (anche se non esiste). Ciao. Marco. (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.it)

Re: e-commerce (was Technic shuttle etc)

(...) 17!!! Wow, cool. I suspect maybe some module reengineering is about to happen given that you have a boatload of black/white beams now... Either that or a MONSTER bridge, which will be very cool as well. Why 17 instead of 15 or 20, just out of (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.market.shopping)

When is "Not an Auction" really an auction?

Be warned: serious ranting below. I'm awfully tired of notices posted to marketplace.buy-sell-trade, stating something like: "big Lego for sale.. ...this is NOT an auction... ...highest offer received after..." etc. This isn't an auction? It sure is (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) Speaking of which... I just posted my wants list. I want hundreds of most of the items on it. Someone pointed out to me that if I could tell of sets that had large quantities of the parts I might get better responses. Given the current state (...)   Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

One thing I noticed with the DAT explorer is that POV rendered images look _MUCH_ better with the lossless PNG format thatn with JPEG. Perhaps appropriate use of the JPEG smoothing function would help the the tests I did looked bad even at 100% (...)   Spectre Update #1 12/1/99

Okay, all... This is the first of what I expect to be weekly updates on the progress of Spectre, my proposal of a few weeks ago for an open-source, cross platform replacement for spirit.ocx. First off, the scope of the project: Spectre (and its (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Automatic Transmission

(...) I remember seeing a type of automatic transmission built many years ago, using Meccano (so something similar should be possible with Technic). It used a swinging 'bob weight' on an arm, driven by an eccentric, and had a second arm coming off (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) IMHO, the best thing is having both (a) super-quick-loading GIFs and (b) high-quality POV JPEGs, and then letting the user decide which one to view. A while back, someone even suggested having spinning/rotating POV-rendered images for each (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.db.brictionary, lugnet.cad.ray)
