I don´t think it is shown very well on the pictures, but I *have* added texture. I sprinkled over sand (it´s not really sand but I don´t know the English word for it) before painting it. I own pov-ray but I think it is just too complicated for me, (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Alan is correct. This piece came out in 1962 with LEGO Wheels. I have a European Wheel set #314 (from 1962) that has two of these.
