I don´t think it is shown very well on the pictures, but I *have* added texture. I sprinkled over sand (it´s not really sand but I don´t know the English word for it) before painting it. I own pov-ray but I think it is just too complicated for me, (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Alan is correct. This piece came out in 1962 with LEGO Wheels. I have a European Wheel set #314 (from 1962) that has two of these. Actually, looking at www.lego.com its hard to determine what lego train should be available in the UK. Though the printed catalogue only has the 4561 express and rails, on the "european" web site there is the whole range of trains. I asked lego some (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)
