Re: general rambling (was: New angled beam)

(...) I haven't seen the suspension setup of the 8448, but can it be that the shock absorber is closer to that chassis up front than rear? When using the 8880 setup, I've found this to be a problem. If you put the shock absorbers too close to the (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.technic)

  More IR proximity detectors

We're trying to use the little radio shack IR transmitter and reciever units to build our own. We're not sure exactly how this will work, but before we get too far, is this a reasonable thing to do? Will these be strong enough to use as proximity (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: female figures

(...) That's a little trickier, sad to say. Female figs in the castle line are few and far between - and most of the sets they come in are highly sought after. King's Mountain Fortress, Maiden's Cart, and Guarded Inn spring to mind, among others) (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.castle)

(...) For less flowing skirts, you can also use a 1x2 brick stacked on two 1x2 plates. Steve (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Clipping / CCW / CW / INVERT

Lots of good stuff in your post, Rui! (...) (Side note: there are not actually any solids in LDraw. Only lines and polygons). (...) Actually, since LDraw doesn't do shading, transparent surfaces *can* be clipped. Only edges, the top-most solid (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: I hate professor pith helmet

(...) Hooray Bruce! You said it! As far as all those extras go I would suggest using them for trade fodder. Someone like me doesn't even have a single witch or Redbeard, though I wish I did, and might be willing to get you something you need. Mark L (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: 4x2ReVu: 4950 Loader Dozer

(...) Maybe it's just that I'm trying to open it too quickly. I always lift it abou two "teeth" notches and then the canopy and hinges come off on the third notch. I'll try to take things a little more gently. (...) Hey, that's a good idea. I'm (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.underground)

  Re: B-Wing and Modified A-Wing

Sure, I will try and get something up for you. At the very least I can probably put all the relavent files in a zip file and E-mail them to you. My problem is I just have not taken the time to figure out how to inlay primitives and sub-models. I (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Favorite Adventurers vehicles (Re: 4x2ReVu: 5909)

(...) Why do you think that price per piece did go up on the sets? Is it the "juniorization", to use your word, of the larger less building intensive pieces? And what do you mean by inspired? (...) Well we all have our opinions. Did you like the (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Great ideas

(...) '86 (...) hmmmm.... 'X-Files' rebel theme, perhaps? Now -there's- a Town theme I could grow to love! <grin> Cheers, Roger (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Great ideas

(...) Yeah, I couldn't stand that... When I got my first Blacktron I sets back in '86 or '87 I had to turn all the heads around backwards so they didn't have the same silly "I'm so happy even if you pull my arms off" look. Actually, I kinda got used (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Classic space prices

When is the next BayLUG meeting

Has a date been set? Also, has a location been set? I am looking forward to the next meeting and hope very much to attend. Also, I will be bringing a lot more train stuff.   general rambling (was: New angled beam)

(...) Well, the few cars that do have rims like that (with very few towtrucks among them) look cheesy, too. As an example, try the 2nd, 3rd, and last pictures on this page: (URL) with the semi-fitting 8880 rubber, those rims are a good imitation of (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Building a moon-display for your space models

(...) Go for it...I'm looking forward to seeing this project get a good start. I'm still in the conceptualising stage, but likely will get some form of start this week-end as well. I'll post notes if not pictures, depending on my progress. Best of (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.build)

  Great ideas

(...) Hey those are great ideas! I now have to find a bunch of ninja hoods and pirate scarf hats. I hadn't even thought of the Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan bodies. Think of all the people out there shuddering at the thought of using Star Wars toys for other (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Anakin's Pod-Racer (micro-scale)  [DAT]

Hello, I'm a first time poster and a first-time user of LDraw. I've designed a micro-scale version of Anakin's Pod Racer (attached below). It's incomplete because I couldn't find the LDraw part for the Minifig Bullwhip (to be used as the control (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)
