Re: LEGO robotics dis'd in CACM Forum.

BAH! (to the writer of the nasty letter in the ACM communications) If one but peruses the Robot Store catalog (www.robotstore.com)--which I actually use as a source of inspiration for Lego 'bot building, one will see that Lego is by far the least (...) (25 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Weapons for the Undead Army?

(...) Yeah, I tried them with the black ninja weapons, but it didn't really have the same feel... black spears and axes really work the best... and I'll have to see about black bows 'n arrows. (...)   US promos and McD's

Are there any US available promotions other than McD's ? I was thinking about this while driving down the highway yesterday. Is it possible that McD's has an exclusive promo arrangement with Lego covering the US ? We keep hearing about the others (...) (25 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.promo)

Re: Lego Article (Re: I'm famous (or infamous))

And if they (TLG) knew that, what could they do ? Lego ads in Sports Illustrated or The Economist ? ;) I'll make a SWAG (scientific wild-assed guess) of 5-10% of sales. Anyone have any better intel ? Ray (...) (25 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people)

  Re: Blue tanks

(...) Unfortunately, the sale expired on 30 September, IIRC. I don't know about S@H's policy on holding firm on such dates; might be worth a phone call to check on it. Cheers, Roger (25 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

LEGO robotics dis'd in CACM Forum.

Howdy, Has anyone seen the October issue of Communications of the ACM? On page 13 is a letter critical of the recent article, "Using Autonomous Robotics to Teach Science and Engineering," that appeared in the June '99, page 85. The article is all (...) (25 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Rock Raiders IS a Space theme

(...) Actually, remembering from my days of higher activity in F&SF fandom, Star Wars would fit in Sci-Fi, however, Isaac Asimov would be considered an SF author, not a Sci-Fi author... These days I see the same sort of disdained distinction in (...) (25 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars)

Re: To sell or to auction, that is the question.

(...) That's a seller option, I believe. I think you can choose 7, I KNOW you can choose 14 or 21. I had been choosing 21 but have now been going with 14. I may go 7 if I can. eBay now allows 10 as well as 7 but there's still the fixed end time (...) (25 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Does anyone else like the new helicopter landing skid piece?

(...) I do like it, though I think it would have been better if the new piece was just the skid part and not the support. Then you could use different spacings. (25 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.town)

Re: To sell or to auction, that is the question.
