  Legofest followup

I can't remember who I was talking to, but someone hadn't seen the infamous concentration camp sets. It's here, if anyone is interested: (URL) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Lego 8448 Survey

I recently bought an 8448 here in Canada. I remember reading several posts that mentioned a buyer survey card. As another AFOL, I also hoped to make my wishes known to TLG. My 8448 did not contain one. Was this an oversight, or do none of the 8448's (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: lost childhood pieces

I was a little worried when I saw the subject line. I'm glad your message wasn't about "pieces of a lost childhood" :) My latest find is a suitcase full of Lego parts! Thanks to you, I could identify that 4x4x6 space window frame. Must be the one (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: FTP Utility

(...) ncftp rocks. I had no idea there was a win32 version. I was going to recommend LeapFTP, which is what I've been using for about a year, but it's $30 and something tells me ncftp is free. I like LeapFTP though (www.leapware.com) - does (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Space stations?

(...) I like Steve's design and must build one and study it. His pocket door is very nice, though I hafta admit that the pocket door system on the M3 is only 2 studs wide rather than Steve's 3. At www.baylug.org/titan/pw/m3.htm see the new links at (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.space)

  Where is everyone

Can anyone tell me why I have seen no new messages for days. What is wrong? (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: FTP Utility

(...) I'm not sure; IS won't tell me and I'm too lazy to try another approach. :-, The firewall did at some point allow ftp traffic; it was a conscious decision to block it. >:-P Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Parts

For what it's worth....My local TRU has a sale on the 3038 CyberSlam kit. I don't know if this is just here (NH USA), or a national markdown. Only worth noting because it's $49.99 instead of $69.99, and includes a big spring shock absorber, a gear (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: FTP Utility

(...) I really like ncftp. It's a Unix command-line client, but it's very full featured (tab-completion of filenames, bookmarks, directory-listing cache). There's a Win32 version too. (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: FTP Utility

(...) Why's that? What firewall setup is your company using, if I may ask? (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: FTP Utility

(...) I use Netscape, personally. It's the ONLY ftp client that will allow access through my company's firewall. Sadly, it's missing some (a lot!) functionality, but I can make up for that with telnet. All I really care about with ftp is file (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Standardized Inventory File Format?

(...) I solve that problem by using *3 or more spaces* as the delimiter. If you want to delimit the next field, you must always use at least 3 spaces in a row. This allows things like color names to include spaces and allows for a little human error (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.db.inv)

  FTP Utility

Anyone want to make an endorsement for an FTP utility? I'm tired of the one's I've been using. I can go out on the web and find some, but I'd rather nab one that people have used and have something positive to say about it. It must run in Windows. (...)   Re: Item suggestions for the 200x LEGO System Collection.

(...) LEGO is Danish, not Dutch. Denmark, not the Netherlands. And, you'll find their standard response is "we do all our developement in- house, we do not accept designs from people outside the company"... (And since a good friend of mine worked (...)   Re: Good place to but miniboard?

(...) First off, how much are you looking to pay? It can be built fairly cheaply if you are interested. Second, there is a mailing list for the miniboard. Check out Fred Martin's FTP site relating to the miniboard for the details. It's all in there. (...) (25 years ago, 22-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
