  Re: LPub 4 Web page

(...) Oh they're high on the list. And you just gave me a very big incentive! Meanwhile, I have been able to investigate LPub this weekend. I am very impressed. This is a night-and-day difference from the previous version. It's great to see all the (...) (16 years ago, 14-Jul-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: VW Beetle set (10187) now with power functions!

(...) Very nicely done, David! (...) Not exactly cheap, but: (URL) - Due to the placement of the battery, the rear seat back is no longer angled. (...) Yes it's always hard to retro-fit such functions to sets not designed for it, and the VW is (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

VW Beetle set (10187) now with power functions!

Hi, After building the new VW set last Sunday, I brought it to work and while everybody admired it, one person commented that it should be powered and should have functional steering... So back to the building desk I went and voila: (URL) <-- Movie (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Dalylight train, Southern Pacific Coast

(...) This is an absolutely stunning passenger train. The articulation of the cars looks awesome and the engraved bricks work beautifully. The GP9 looks a little out of place and I'm a big fan of steam so I'm eagerly awaiting to see the steam engine (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jul-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Minifig scale?

(...) When I first read this, I laughed out loud. Yes, the topic is worthy of discussion and debate. So why did I laugh? One word...... Barbie. Every so often you will read or hear someone in the media complaining about Barbie. "Her proportions are (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jul-08, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Use protection? (UV that is)

So in my lego room I have a big window (hey I'm not a vampire!). I wanted to see what people know about (and use) UV protection that can be applied to a window -- in a film like way. Something like tinting windows of a car but for the house. Anyone (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jul-08, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.general)

Re: Power Functions remote control Thumbstick - new challenge

(...) OK, here is an attempted solution to the "new challenge", i.e. translating joystick movement to tank controls. It works, but it's a little awkward to use (pushing the joystick sideways requires quite a lot of force). I'm sure Jason (or (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jul-08, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Asking for RIS 2.0 patch under Windows XP

I had two laptops giving me that same error: "A critical error has occurred. You may be running out of memory, or you may need to reinstall Robotics Invention System 2.0." It must have been a recent Windows update that messed them up, as these (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Ok I'll do that. Lego support has always been very helpful in the past :) Thanks Luca (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Minifig scale?

I think this whole issue of scale and size brings into question just how humans see the world and depict it. Western Civilization and the whole scientific mathematical outlook of the world originated only a few hundred years ago with the discovery (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jul-08, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Architecture series

I just received the two new sets in the Architecture Series. 21000 Sears Tower 21001 John HAncock Tower I love them, even though they only took 5 minutes to build, and these two are fairly similar. The instructions show two more in the series Space (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jul-08, to lugnet.general)

  Re: NXT programming with Logo

(...) I used to use Terrapin Logo and MicroWords on the RCX. Haven't used either on the NXT. If only to get kids to think in a lambda-calculus programming language, I'd pop for fee based MicroWorlds. Unfortunately, the spirit is willing, but the (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT-G Models in Vista

Seems Lego Tech Support has heard of something (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jul-08, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: Minifig scale?

(...) --snip-- (...) I think you're demonstrating my point here by confusing size and scale here. A 'scale' defines the ratio of each dimension of the model to the real thing. Thus HO scale is 1:87, half scale is 1:2, true nano scale is 1:10^9 and (...) (16 years ago, 26-Jul-08, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Minifig scale?

(...) Minifig scale, as with micro-scale and nano-scale, is a very broadly defined term. Miniland scale can be nailed down fairly precisely, but you can make one creation and call it nano-scale, and then make a matching creation that's half that (...)
