Re: Official LEGO storage boxes? For more than a hundred bucks each?!

(...) They are in the new catalog. My guess is that they were made in China and cost Lego about a dollar each. Tack on another dollar for shipping to the distrabution center. Give it time, they probably bought thousands and when they get stuck with (...) (17 years ago, 15-Jul-07, to lugnet.storage, FTX)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) There was a (URL) thread> a couple of years ago where there was a suggestion on BS to transfer all your images to Maj as BS was shutting down, so that should probably have been taken as a warning. Kevin hasn't mentioned anything about it (...) (17 years ago, 15-Jul-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) Kevin has almost never communicated with the lego community at all and he's barely updated Brickshelf over the years at all. It looked like it was from 1995. I'm not surprised by this move at all. I'm just hoping it really isn't gone or there (...) (17 years ago, 15-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) I'm glad I kept all my pics--but like Maggie, I have a hard time buying into the theory that someone would just shut 'er down with little/no warning. This has to be a hack job...I hope I'm right about this-- Play Well and Prosper, Matthew "The (...) (17 years ago, 15-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) Actually, I can - it would have swamped his server, big time. It's gonna take ages to fix all the links on my web pages, and that's even WITH backups of all my pics. And that's not to mention all the links I have to other people's pics... oh (...) (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) Maybe it's been hacked? I can't imagine he wouldn't have given people a chance to save their images.... :-( Maggie C. (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) Kevin's known for taking a good idea, starting something we want, and then abandoning all administration of it. Oh, without passing the torch gracefully. I estimate I probably lost 3/4 of my MOC photos. Aaron (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Problems with Brickshelf?

(...) Good job giving everyone time to back there stuff up, Kevin Everyone else, get on Flickr. Brickshelf has sucked since the 90's. (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.general)

  Problems with Brickshelf?

Just been to Brickshelf and it reports Brickshelf has discontinued operation. We apologize for any inconvenience. Maj still seems to be up Tim (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.general) !!

Re: James Jessiman's Unofficial LEGO® Pages - The Original???

(...) Wow, I had no idea these were still online! I was thinking about this the other day, wondering if someone had kept an archive. Yep, they're the originals. IIRC, in the early days of LDraw.org, there was an archive on the web site. I the site (...) (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Official LEGO storage boxes? For more than a hundred bucks each?!

(...) Brian-- Yeah, I've seen them. They're nice. Nifty. And made from wood (or a wood-like substance), which is not a LEGO usual feature. I wouldn't buy them for my kids (if I had them), but I might consider them if I were single and LEGO was my (...) (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.storage, FTX)

Official LEGO storage boxes? For more than a hundred bucks each?!

Anyone see the new "LEGO Furniture" items being sold now in the online catalog? A storage box in red, yellow, blue, or green, slightly larger than two feet deep by 1.5 feet wide by one foot high... for a hundred twenty dollars!! And a stacking bin (...)   Re: The Mercurials - Lego Comic

Very Interesting! I like the cinematic feel you have achieved (I must try that sometime) and despite some dialogue difficulties the presentation is very tight, though maybe a giant 'next' button would be in order. I look forward to seeing more. God (...) (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Hey all, just sent these out to a few people and thought I'd post here just in case... I'm crossposting to .UK/.NI in case anyone reads there more frequently.   Re: Is it possible to run lego trains outdoors?

(...) As advised elsewhere, the answer is "no", UNLESS.... you do as I am going to do. My next Big Thing® is going to be creating 12 wide LEGO trains that utilize G scale track, trucks, couplers, and motors. I will run them outdoors (but won't leave (...)   Re: Is it possible to run lego trains outdoors?

Re: Is it possible to run lego trains outdoors?

(...) This is absolutely correct (I actually work for one of the major companies that has supplied LEGO their ABS). ABS is not good outdoors. In most outdoor weatherable applications where ABS is present, it is extruded in sheet form and used as a (...) (17 years ago, 14-Jul-07, to lugnet.trains)
