(...) Whoops, I missed that there was a third option. I concur with this, as it's both the right voltage and confirmed AC. (...) _ALWAYS_ assume DC on an actual power adapter (at least in the US). Most AC devices will just use a simple cord, like you'd find on a portable stereo. (...) The one used for the RCX may be, but the NXT power supply is sold as a different item, and is listed as a 10VAC adapter vs. the 9VAC adapters used by trains and various other systems.
