Re: 2x2 plate with hole ?

Hey Scott, Thanks for the quick answer. Do you happen to know off the top of your head a town set that uses it? thanks, Chris Hill (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  Bluewater

I went to the LEGO shop in Bluewater today. An excellent shop that sells a lot of stuff not available at Billund or Windsor (AFAIK). I came out with a Droid Development Kit :-) The jewellery and keyrings Jon mentioned in his post are very desirable, (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: robotic rovers

I have another LDraw(n) rover that I posted in the (URL) group. Only problem is that it's kind of top-heavy, and the motors don't gear down much. Still, it's another design to compare. Incidentally, has anyone tried to combine a rotation sensor and (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Yet another rover w/ transmission  [DAT]

Here's a new design that I came up with; one that actually incorporates the transmission into the chassis itself. 0 Enhanced rover with differential transmission 0 Name: ROVER3.DAT 0 Author: Ian Warfield 1 16 -210 0 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 -1 0 0 4477.DAT 1 (...)   RE: robotic rovers

A/B steering is the simplest possible (and least accurate) steering mechanism. One motor controls each wheel. Similar to the very first robot you build with the Mindstorms CD. No fancy gearing or other machinations. Usually the robot has trouble (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: 2x2 plate with hole ?

You can use a standard peg for it for the many different Technic wheels, it is used a lot in Town models. I never had a problem with it, you just need to build a good base around so that piece stays there. Scott Sanburn (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  2x2 plate with hole ?

I was browsing Steve Bliss' element catalog (great resource Steve) and was wondering about the 2x2 plate with hole: (URL) it possible to securely place a peg/pin in the hole and make it a wheel holder or is the hole too shallow, weak, wrong size, (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  13V ~ port on 12V transformer

My question is what is it for? My dad says it is the first change after the step-down from 240V (Europeans who use 220V transformers have a 12V ac port). The other 2 ports on the tranformer have a use - one for accessories, one for control of the (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Colonial Viper

Bram, I love it!!! I love it when I can recognize a model without anyone having to tell me what it is (even though you did I would have recognized it immediately). I have actually been taking a break lately from my Star Wars modeling working on (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: An aside on the "Plagiarism" thread...

(...) The latter. If you use his method, you *should* note it. However, we're our own enforcement here, so if you don't want to give credit, you don't *have* to. It'd just be more polite to Tom; and once the audience checks out what else Tom made, (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: robotic rovers

I'm pretty much inclined to go with KISS too; it's less complicated, with fewer parts to worry about and less that can go wrong. Plus you can always expand on it and modify it easily. Bot 5 looks like a good design, especially if it has stood the (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  help! looking for site

Hi, I'm looking for a site I saw a few month ago, where it was show how to use a small piston(air cylinder??) to controle a switch. Does any one have the URL on the hand Thanks Martin (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

  differential transmission  [DAT]

Here is a rendering of a "differential transmission" rotation decoder apparatus that I've come up with. It's the most compact design that I've come up with so far. The missing part "2977.dat" refers to my rotation sensor mockup that I made out of a (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)
