Re: new moc: st. paul de vence

snip The model is spot on from start to finish. I loved the way you handled the walls. And running my fingers over the roof slopes was fun. As always so much is lost because of having only pictures. This is a beauty to walk around and peek at all (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

  Re: BrickFest 2007 location

(...) - Mucho snippo - (...) Comparisons with SF cons are pretty valid - especially if you consider HoB's affiliation with one in Chicago. In the end, I think it'll come down to fan saturation and "market" pressures - what venues will be able to (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: BrickFest 2007 location

Hey, Ever hear of WorldCon. It's The premiere SciFi con, it moves every year and groups compete/bid for 2-3 years in advance to host it. So I see no reason why brickfest in all its glory could not become similar. I for one have never been to, and (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: BrickFest 2007 location

(...) I think our hobby is large enough to sustain multiple fests. Sure, most folks will only attend one per year. Other folks are willing, able, and excited, to attend multiple. That said, most hobbies also have one major event per year. In some (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: BrickFest 2007 location

(...) I'm not sure exactly where in DC Brickfest is held, but traffic on the Capitol beltway can be just as horrendous as traffic in Chicago or Atlanta. We've gotten to the point in the US where traffic just about anywhere is maddening. Houston, (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: Live with Joe Meno

Aw, and here I thought Joe needed a roommate. :) I'll try and tune in at 9:00 but if not will definitely listen to the archive. Very cool idea. It would be cool if you could work with some of the other podcasters (BimP, BrickNebula, others?) and (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: BrickFest 2007 location

(...) Well, I don't think that's necessarily the point. I think there are a few sub issues here: 1) There should only be one major Lego convention every year 2) There shouldn't be MORE major Lego conventions every year 3) BrickFest shouldn't divide (...)   Re: MOC: Frauenkirche Dresden

(...) ---snip--- (...) Wow! This is what I think of doing when I happen to pass a really nice castle or bridge, or when I see an airplane or som unusual or colorful heavy vehicle. I am stunned to see the result of this thought being executed to its (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

  Re: BrickFest 2007 location

Actually, Chicago has had a brick event for the past two years. It's called "House of Bricks" and while it isn't as highly attended as Brickfest, those who have gone have had a good time by all reports. I was involved in HoB1, but not Hob2. HoB (...)
