What wasn't mentioned in the article is that Lego plans to discontinue electric trains, and also that they are mostly sold on the internet. From the very first basic sets of 1949, until 1965.... all Lego Basic Sets were nicely housed in flat boxes with all the elements displayed in checkerboard and zig-zag patterns.
