Re: funny article from the Philly show

What wasn't mentioned in the article is that Lego plans to discontinue electric trains, and also that they are mostly sold on the internet. This will no doubt discourage parents from buying the sets for their kids. After all, there can be only so (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: TLGs wasteful box sizes?

From the very first basic sets of 1949, until 1965.... all Lego Basic Sets were nicely housed in flat boxes with all the elements displayed in checkerboard and zig-zag patterns. It was almost like opening a box of chocolates, with everything so (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: My First Classroom Use

(...) a lot (if not all) of the technic instructions list the axles, ruberbands and beams in a small bubble on the page or at the front of the book with a 1:1 picture. Chris (20 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: reverse ploarity circut protection??

(...) A bridge may be the only solution, but you will loose 1.2v across the diodes generally. Although it needs work (and is incomplete) I wrote a tutorial on interfacing a simple LED with an RCX, which shows ways using a bridge, or just simply (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: reverse ploarity circut protection??

(...) Yes, though the things to think about are the voltage drop across the diodes or other devices and the amount of power required. If only low power devices were being driven, such as the IR chip on its own, a simple bridge rectifier made from (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Re: funny article from the Philly show

(...) ... (...) Well, duh. This didn't give it away? "Oh, there's one more explanation for all this -- from my wife. "The trains go around in circles and they spin their wheels a lot," she observed after we had been gawking for more than hour. "And (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: What is this part?

(...) I finally got to see this set in person at a TRU. $79.99. i will wait for it to drop in price. next question. anyone play with the "darts" from this set. it looks like its the same canon that is the shooter, but they redid the darts. why?   Re: How do you create a new VI for NXT-G?

(...) I don't know... yet. I think there are some further developments in the works on this however. Until then, note that three of the sensor blocks (touch, sound, and light) have the ability to output "raw" values, and two of these sensor blocks (...)   Re: Electric Compressor for Pneumatic Engines

(...) I have a car tyre air compressor with a variable pressure limiter, which is essential for LEGO pneumatics. It will nominally produce 250psi. I set the limiter to 20-25psi normally, perhaps 30psi for short periods. Note that you need a pressure (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.technic)

Not the WC, it's the Wedding Cake Tower (WCT) thanks Bob for the name ;^) This is a MOC from approximately 18-24 months ago, where I tried to incorporate as many Belville pieces as possible, in the end you can probably only see 30% of them and in (...)
