Re: Have you got your NXT yet?

According to Shop@Home, mine shipped out on Sunday and UPS tells me it will be at my house on FRIDAY!!! ...I really need to get more napkins...keep drooling too much... - Jim (...) (20 years ago, 28-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Arrivati i modelli Lego factory

I'll probably see it...

(URL) kinda sad that I'm too busy to see the man of steel on opening night tonite :( But I'll catch it sometime in the next week That said, the preview for Spiderman 3 looks terrific! Dave K (20 years ago, 28-Jun-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Have you got your NXT yet?

(...) Janey, you need to constrain the test better - the question here is "how *long* did it take the RCX not to arrive?". You have to be specific and scientific on these things... (20 years ago, 28-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Have you got your NXT yet?

(...) There are two issues here. First, the NXT is slightly larger than the RCX, and therefore requires more shipping space. Thus fewer NXTs per UPS truck, etc. The only way around this was to make them smaller (we on the MUP/MDP pushed for making (...) (20 years ago, 28-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Have you got your NXT yet?

(...) Well I also ran the same test, with both the RCX and the NXT... and the results were so identical, it's almost shocking. RCX - did not place order at shop&home, and strangely it never arrived. NXT - did not place order at shop&home, and (...) (20 years ago, 28-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Have you got your NXT yet?

(...) Tim, I think you should consider there are other factors that cause the NXT to be slower than the RCX. You may not be able to accurately run this speed test, until the NXT shipping bottleneck is eased. I assume that will be sometime next year. (...) (20 years ago, 28-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: LDD to replace LDRAW?

(...) Nice to read that ldraw will continue, I knew that, I don't believe LDD is better and as you said ldraw has old LEGO parts :D nice 80s and early 90s, about LEGO's cad wonder what they use anyways I believe our stuff is better. (20 years ago, 28-Jun-06, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

Re: Have you got your NXT yet?

(...) My VERY FIRST impression is that the RCX is faster than the NXT. In my two previous tests with the RCX it took about three days with standard shipping to arrive at my door (counting from when shop@home sends me shipment notification). My test (...)   AZLUG MEETING COME ON WE CAN DO IT

I AM WRITING IN CAPS BECAUSE OF PURE ENJOYMENT. IT HAS BEEN A FEW MONTHS SINCE I WAS NOT ABLE TO POST. WELL I'M BACK BABY!!! (THE CROWD CHEERS) NOW AS I AM COMING DOWN FROM MY NATURAL HIGH. Se li hai fatti te, potevano almeno scrivere il tuo nome :-( Perché così mi sa che sfiora l'illegale, in quanto il lavoro di disegnatori e progettisti è regolamentato in modo piuttosto rigido; (...)   Re: Have you got your NXT yet?

Mine arrived yesterday, earlier than I expected. I ordered two for... battle.>:-) First impressions: I need to buy fresh batteries, so I haven't fired it up yet.   Re: 7-Wide BNSF & TTX Intermodal Train & Crane

  LDD to LDRAW Conversion Fixes

I've been tinkering with the "ldraw.xml" file in LEGO Digital Designer (LDD), and have come up with the following list of fixes for good LDD/LDRAW conversion. In case you hadn't already discovered, if you append ".ldr" to the end of the file name (...) (20 years ago, 28-Jun-06, to lugnet.cad.ldd, lugnet.lego, lugnet.trains, lugnet.town, lugnet.build) !!

Of course wanting it and being able to build it are two different things :-) If (...) (20 years ago, 28-Jun-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: LDD to replace LDRAW?

(...) I very much doubt LDraw is going away any time soon. For one thing it has many, many more parts than LDD including a number that will probably never appear in LDD due to being outdates. Also the interfacing to povray and other programs will (...) (20 years ago, 28-Jun-06, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

Have you got your NXT yet?

I know that some folks already have gotten the NXT and have started playing with it, but I've yet to see anybody announcing such here, so I was curious. Also: should I direct new NXT users into the LUGNET forums? I'm already starting to get more (...) (20 years ago, 28-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)
