Re: Pb with Lpub and submodels

(...) I'll look into this but keep in mind that I just inherited the source so it may be a few months before I'm fluent enough in it to hunt down little idiosycracies like this. -Orion (20 years ago, 19-Jan-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: What to do if not selected for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) Thanks Steve. This really comes much appreciated. I'm really positive at this point I'm going to face the fact that I will buy my NXT in August. With that said it gives ME the opportunity to build up a Lego collection. There are a couple of (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: What to do if not selected for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) The 8421 crane is a very nice set. It has a good mix of studded and studless pieces. You can learn a lot about building, by building it. Steve (20 years ago, 19-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) I can, for at least two reasons: (a) It will likely exist at ship-time. I don't know that the same can be said of a BrickOS port (or a NQC port, which is actually where I'd like to go). (b) The LEGO software may be able to do a lot of things, (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: AFX Lego Racing

(...) These AFX motors are HO scale. (URL) Scale slot cars are 1/64 scale electrically-powered cars. Speeds can reach up to 30 mph, which is over 1000 mph scale speed. With the lego body and running the stock 16volts the speed is significantly less (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) I would bet good money that more hobbyists will want to have multiple NXT's talking to each other than educationalists. I can see LegOS (or something similar in concept) implementing bluetooth drivers. I can't see myself using Lego software on (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

What to do if not selected for the NXT Developer's Program?

Since I'm coming to grip with the sheer number of people who applied and there are only 100 vacants, I need a plan B. I no longer own the Mindstorms set so at this point, I'm unforunately brick-free. Any suggestions? Is it worth picking up the (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) It depends on how rich the environment. If they are only talking specifically about getting us a crippled language then I would agree, but if NXT is really going to be engaging then in typical LEGO fashion they might present challenges and (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) It's probably a software cost issue. National Instrument would want more money for the more capable version of the software. (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)
