I suppose it is a question of availability. Many mindstorms only contests are about giving all teams the same constraints, and getting them to perform within them. If a custom sensor is readily available off the shelf from known suppliers, and all (...) (20 years ago, 2-Dec-05, to lugnet.robotics)
