North Central Positronics Ltd.... Presents Andy

Hey all, This scene is a bit of a spoiler so if you plan to read the books you might wish to skip it... Threw together a third Dark Tower vignette tonight. This one is also from Book Five (Wolves of the Calla). Short synopsis of the scene: Eddie (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jul-05, to lugnet.western, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.vignette)

  Re: 8421 first impressions

Just completed 8421 myself. Impressions: -certainly the longest technic build I've ever had. -an excellent parts pack -looks very impressive when complete -functionality: vaguely disappointing. When all is said and done, what can this, the biggest (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jul-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Very Rare Canadian Only Plates?

(...) You know, I don't think I've ever seen such a plate, but that's likely because I haven't seen waffle plates in general. What's worse (okay, start your cringing)...I throw them out when I get them--they're usually really grimey and in bad (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jul-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Hanging asteroids (was: Re: Announcing the great Asteroid MOC Contest!)

(...) You could set up all the hang points in advance, and just hang paper clips as placeholders until the asteroids show up. There are all sorts of devices for (URL) hanging things from acoustic tiles> - a bunch of (URL) these> would break up the (...)   Re: Larger Technic sets and Nitro Menace now on S@H

Only ToysRUs so far has the new stock, this stuff is targetted to ship to smaller dealers for shelf space around August 1st. (21 years ago, 1-Jul-05, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Bionicle MOCs for Brickfest 2005

(Wouldn't cross-posting this to lugnet.events.brickfest have been appropriate?) (...) Do you have a definition for what percentage of non-Bionicle elements disqualifies a MOC? I, for instance, have built renditions of the Transformers G1 Autobots (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jul-05, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Hanging asteroids (was: Re: Announcing the great Asteroid MOC Contest!)

David Gregory wrote in late April: (...) Space co-coordinator Daniel Rubin replied: (...) My suggestion: rather than hanging each individual asteroid from the ceiling, which would entail much climbing on ladders (8 feet? 10?), construct a framework (...)   Re: The LEGO Revival Survey

(...) I am a mechanic and have always been fascinated by mechanical items, especially those I can take apart and put back together. I buy technic for the mechanical functions, and other models because I like the way they look when assembled. (...) (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jul-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: Larger Technic sets and Nitro Menace now on S@H

(...) Not at Toys Toys Toys, not at Bricks & Blocks, so I guess the lesser retailers haven't got them yet. I haven't checked Toy Blox yet 'cause they are far away and they sell some things at above MSRP. All I'm waiting for is for Bricks & Blocks to (...)   Studs invade Bionicle world en masse!

Hey guys, check out the new (URL) Battle of Metru Nui> set. This is the first time I see that many studs in a Bionicle set. I'm not usually into Bionicle; I am a fan of Technic proper, but I saw this and have to say WOW! Kids now get to get into hot (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jul-05, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, FTX)

Re: New Information regarding the "Build the Trust" competition at Brickfest

  The Upper Chattahoochee rides again

Back when I got into LEGO railroading I built my first MOC set of engines, they were part of my Upper Chattahoochee railway. I didn't have a lot of parts and not a lot of experience building trains. (URL) They looked like this> Well one of the great (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jul-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX) !

Re: LPub Orientation and Half-Size LDraw files

(...) What if you changed it to check for an individual (*.ori?) file for each part? If the file exists, it contains the orientation info. That way an upgrade would only add new files that don't already exist. The only problem then is if an already (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jul-05, to lugnet.cad)

  LPub 2.4.7 available

I just uploaded LPub 2.4.7.0. I modified the install package to allow custom installation (allows you to avoid overwriting of orientation and half_size). LPub 2.4.7.0 has fixes for page number font save/restore. It also has a fix for BOM and PLI (...) (21 years ago, 30-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Wolves of the Calla

Hello all, Threw together another Dark Tower vignette. This one is from Book 5: Wolves of the Calla. Not much too this one, as the horse and wheel chair take up a lot of space. Anyhow, to explain the scene a bit: Susannah Dean, armed with her (...) (21 years ago, 30-Jun-05, to lugnet.western, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.vignette)

Re: Seeking Musician or digital musician for DVD Project

(...) Todd, I at one time used to write techno tracks and have some songs that *may* be appropriate for your needs. I, however, will not be able to come to Brickfest this year (NMRA commitments overruled that), but could possible bring a CD for you (...)
