Re: Lego vs. Tyco: Legal Battle of the Clones

(...) Gary: This court case was remarkable for GKCs testimony that the original Lego block was in fact a copy of the Kiddicraft block. There is a summary (which is VERY biased) on the Best-Lock site: (URL) the expiration of Lego's major patents they (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: More esoteric Lego history

(...) Yeah, every new fact I uncover raises many new questions, my head may explode eventually. I originally thought that both sisters were older than KKK but Dave has sent me a high-resolution copy of the image above and it is clear that one sister (...)   Re: Samsonite 118 Train set

(...) Ben, thanks for the correction. So, FAO Schwarz marketed the 116 in 1968 and Sears marketed the 118 in 1969. There may have been other retailers too but at least we know about those two. Eric (21 years ago, 6-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Re: More esoteric Lego history

(...) That particular picture came from a 700/4, however that same picture was featured on 700/0, 700/1, 700/3, 700/3a, 700/4, and 700/5 (and supplementary sets too). There are Mursten, Bausteine, and System varieties depending on the year of (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jun-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Blocking SetUserDisplay?

(...) Neither of these work, although the second one does introduce a temporary for everything except for the 0 part. It will result in the display sometimes showing a value of zero. NQC tries really hard to use as few variables as it can so you (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: The pseudo-intellectual ramblings of a cool-guy wanna-be.

(...) Even though I'm from a different continent I can relate to much of what you're describing here, although the end result was somewhat different... I can definately remember weekend cartoons (Transformers, GI Joe, MASK, inspector Gadget etc (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Technic Designers?

In lugnet.dear-lego, Mark Neumann wrote: SNIP good points (...) I absolutely agree. the Technic basic sets of yesteryear were GREAT for this type of bulk, open-ended creativity. For me, these 3 sets are my technic designer sets: (3 URLs) The yellow (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)

  Re: Blocking SetUserDisplay?

(...) Thanks for the ideas! Actually these yielded some interesting results: a = 0 + ((x * 100) + y); occasionally yielded 0 (as expected), but never yielded anything other than 0 and the correct value (that I saw). a = ((x * 100) + y); and a = (x * (...)   Re: The pseudo-intellectual ramblings of a cool-guy wanna-be.

(...) Wow. What a great post (I mainly say this because you linked to Mr.Ham). Warning: Rambling About to Commense I think a better title might have been "The Art of LEGO: A New Perspective" - that usually when we think of the 'Art of LEGO' - we (...)   Re: Lego City Airport at Myer

(...) No, I think I gave them too much credit for appreciating the retail pricing of Lego sets. (...) I wouldn't pay 19cpp if I had a reasonable expectation of being able to pay 17cpp for the same parts in the near future. I don't recall many lego (...)
