  Re: Jawa Sandcrawler Set #10144

(...) The model definitely has technic treads, and making them stay in place and still have wheels would be unnecessarily complicated. I'd put money on it being just a poor choice of words on that page. Wouldn't be the first time, after all. :) Jeff (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.year.2005, FTX)

  Re: More esoteric Lego history

(...) Cool! I have some Bilofix in my collection, and I really admire the quality of the beechwood parts. For the uninitiated, it is an Erector type of construction system with wooden girders, plastic nuts and bolts. Now I feel justified in why I (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Blocking SetUserDisplay?

(...) You may be able to work around this by using parenthesis (untested). a = ((x * 100) + y); or you might try a = 0 + ((x * 100) + y); John Hansen (URL) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  The pseudo-intellectual ramblings of a cool-guy wanna-be.

What follows is a small synopsis of some the research I’ve been doing lately. I wouldn’t have otherwise written this up, but based on the good conversation that was born from the (URL) Emerge> discussion, I thought it might be fun. If you’re the (...)   BrickFest DC 2005 Technic/Mindstorms events

BrickFest is coming and the robots are getting restless! Competition robots that is. Yes, BrickFest is just two months away and its time to start tuning up your competition robots. There are four competitions this year, look at (URL) for more info. (...)   Re: Question about mosaics

(...) I spoke to a Legoland CA employee that said there were problems with part availability (primarily 1 x 1 white plates). He said a final decision hadn't been made whether the mosaics would be sold again in the park or not. But I'm expecting some (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: BT in robotics

(...) That's happened since we got our office contract. I'll check into it, thanks. If it's $19 for as much as you can stand to use, that's not so bad. We were paying $10-$20 for a couple of megabytes per month. But the phones are so slow I don't (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.robotics)

2 MOCs: Dirt Collector and Switchbot

So the other day I was playing around with the scoop from the Pneumatic Front End Loader: [LEGOSet 8464] And realised how useless it was, considering I had never used it after I had torn the set down years ago. So (naturally) I thought I'd make a (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space, lugnet.underground, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !!

Re: New Build - DB 115 Multiped Tank

All I can say is thank goodness for distractions. I'm loving this multiped. Very SorMladen or MladSoren as the case may be. You're details and excellent photography give it just the right touch, Jas. Great job! -Dave (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: V-Siren

Oh, Soren! This is one slick, sleek creation, my man! I love the guns, but prefer the simplicity of the legs. It seems you went to a lot of trouble to utilize parts that have a lot of tile-like coverage to help facilitate a lesser studded effect. (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: V-Siren

(...) Excellent mecha, Soren, as always. Good color scheme, even if I do hate yellow. :) Could use some more dark red and dark blue though. Also, the weapons binders are great. :D Thought of making any large support weaponry, though? Jeff BrickFest (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Jawa Sandcrawler Set #10144

(...) That's exactly the way I interpreted the description as well and the only reason I mentioned it. I specifically remember the phrase 'rides on wheels for smooth motion'. -Dave (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.year.2005)

Re: Using stickers on LDraw models

(...) Lars should probably update L3P to not apply seams to objects that have any dimension less than or equal to the seam width. I added that feature to LDView at some point for just such a problem. I don't think a metacommand is appropriate when (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: More esoteric Lego history

(...) Ya know, Eric told me about this a while ago. And with Jim mentioning the 4 sons of Ole Kirk Christiansen again. Well it got me to wondering about the family twist to TLG. I mean here we have Ole Kirk, who died in 1958 leaving his 3rd oldest (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Vintage Lego Commercials Online!

(...) Eric, Where do you find the time? What software did you use to pull the images out of the movies? If anyone wants the movies I can email them, or post on my website (for short periods only). But they are large (4 - 21 Mbyte) so be warned. dave (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

  Using stickers on LDraw models

Hello, I have a question about using stickers on LDraw models and rendering these in PovRay (and other renderers). Stickers are 0.25 LDU thick, with the rear (bottom) at y=0 and the front (top) at y=-0.25. When using a sticker it is lined up with (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)
