Re: Less than 1/2-stud door inset

(...) Not seen that method before. Looks like it should be inset by 3/4 plate thickness. There are 1/2 plate inset mehods around (URL) or even less, but that one looks fairly rigid and doesn't clog up the interior. Jason Railton (21 years ago, 31-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Less than 1/2-stud door inset

(...) I used a similar thing for the first version of my WAP-5's grille once: (2 URLs) But I hadn't really delved into using it for a different door offset, obvious though it may be. However, I had been toying with the idea of using headlight bricks (...) (21 years ago, 31-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Less than 1/2-stud door inset

Here's an idea for a (URL) door "look" that is inset by less than 1/2-stud>. Sorry if this has been shown before, and I haven't noticed to credit the designer. later, James Mathis (21 years ago, 31-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Type 5 lines, BFC relevance, and OpenGL

(...) Interesting... so this article is suggesting that type5 lines not be used at all, which may be possible for a model that is certain to be BFC compliant. Wheras the mechanism I was suggesting would work for any model, BFC compliant or not. The (...) (21 years ago, 31-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Compressionism

(...) You're right. No fun, but right. So get J2 to shut up, he's the main instigator of the "bigger is better" thing... you'd think he's compensating for something. (although Spencer and his 7 wide automobiles certainly don't help matters) (21 years ago, 31-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Compressionism

(...) I beg to differ. My minifigs recently came out in protest against the increased noise levels and pollution of trialling a proposed 8-wide design. <Throws bucket of cold water on the whole 6-wide vs. 8-wide posturing...> Build what you like. If it runs, great! If not, either live with it, or rebuild it.   Re: caster wheel design

I had a similar problem once, when my Cybot had a broken castor - I found that the Lego axle made a snug fit in the cavity intended for it - however it was bending and under a lot of tension.
