  Re: Alternate connectors

You even do not need to cut your existing LEGO wires visit (URL) cost effective too Nitin (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Re: Alternate connectors

(...) One of the NALUG members did the very thing you are talking about. I believe he used a connector from Radio Shack but I will double check or have him check the forums. Mike (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Alternate connectors

I am trying to find a suitable connector that will let me cut up and extend the regular mindstorm wires, as well as to connect to custom built sensors. I have seen that some people have used (URL) Molex connectors> (URL) but I can't seem to find (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Re: Type 5 lines, BFC relevance, and OpenGL

(...) You know, this got me thinking last night. I knew it sounded vaguely familiar, so I searched lugnet for "stencil buffer" and found this. (URL) I was so close, but somehow got distracted before I could work it out. Damn that attention deficit (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Heads up- Film Contest at HoB

Jon Gilchrist and I are putting together an animation contest for House of Bricks. While we're still putting everything together, I wanted to give everyone a heads-up of what can be expected so everyone can begin planning. The contest will have 2 (...)   Re: The Ninjin C-FA Fighter

Ha ha ha. Oooh, ooh, let me be the one to ask the newbie question! Okay, here goes: Is it supposed to be shaped like a carrot or something, is that why you have the green things? That is a real nice build considering how hard it is to get pieces in (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.org.us.sealug)

  Can anyone read Finnish

I'm trying to find out if this site ships to Canada but I don't speak Finnish and there are no online translators for Finnish. (URL) Thanks, Mike mkultra71(at)gmail.com (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Compressionism (D&RGW coach set)

(...) Seems to me you have a lot of problem(s) running LOL! ;-) Legoswami Highly subtle one, 50/50 chance you'll get it, IMO. (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: caster wheel design

(...) Another "microcaster" is the style used in "ERBIE the Robocar" discussed here (URL) made with a 2x2 turntable, a 2x3 plate, and a single wheel (URL) works surprisingly well, so long as 1) The weight isn't huge and 2) the surface isn't too (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Compressionism (D&RGW coach set)

(...) Agreed, those models aren't built primarily for their running qualities. (...) Except that I found out (second hand, I wasn't there, I was in S'pore) that it's not as good a runner as I had hoped. Needs tuning on a big layout... Sigh. I agree (...)   Re: caster wheel design

(...) Move the other wheels or the CG so that the caster doesn't support much weight. No matter what your design, a caster that carries a lot of weight will not work well. The large turntables will have a lot of friction when carrying a lot of load. (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Compressionism (D&RGW coach set)

(...) LOL, I know its Stefan's, I talk to him online. (I hope he doesn't hold my posting that link against me o_o) But I was unaware of the story behind the diesel, thanks for it. I am also aware that he has a big collection, the lucky devil. (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

Today's offer from JJ's furniture store: a rocking chair

Hello! Actually two rocking chairs. The first version was this one: (URL) me, I'm a link!>> At Erpelmutz' suggestion (a fellow German AFOL) I changed the backrest like this, and I like the look better: (URL) me, I'm a link!>> Unfortunately the (...)   Re: Compressionism (D&RGW coach set)

To All, Interesting discussion. Anyhow, (...) Just to clarify on a few things - this is Stefan Garcia's creation, and IIRC, he was trying to get a DTI engine with all of his available orange, and this was the result. Stefan has done some remarkable (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Compressionism (D&RGW coach set)

(...) I think it all boils down to what PURPOSE you want your train MOC to have. Whether you want it to be just a beautiful display piece, to run on a layout, or hey, even a mixture of the two. A good example of the former would be this model (IMO) (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Compressionism (D&RGW coach set)

(...) With engines I always try to build to scale as far as possible, with coaches this usually isn't possible due to length vs curve radius and a few other practical limitations. Around 50-60 studs would be the max for length of any rail vehicle. (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Eggliners (was Re: Compressionism (D&RGW coach set))

(...) Eggliners are a good joke... But to me, they do NOT capture the essence of a train car. There is a place you have to know where to stop compressing and they went TOO far. That is why in my ATSF project, I made the cars LONGER than Lego chose (...) (21 years ago, 30-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
