Re: FLL not allowing NQC; Mindscript is allowed

On Wed, March 16, 2005 10:22 am, Steve Baker said: (...) <discussion of cost...> Actually, I'm not talking about the cost. How often do we see LEGO robots out in the "real world" performing tasks? Not very often. I'll bet it's less often than (...) (21 years ago, 16-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: 4421 box (and other 2005 boxes)

(...) The 500pc box 4780 is Eur 9.99 in Dublin so could save 1 c. by getting 2 of these instead of a 4221 it's hard to make out the brick size distribution, but there are fewer colours in the smaller set... Ronan (21 years ago, 16-Mar-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

RE: FLL not allowing NQC; Mindscript is allowed

I've got an idea. Use the scientific method. Open your mind long enough to coach two FLL teams. Honestly give both teams the same amount of effort and dedication. Honestly divide your team members so the teams are as even as possible talent-wise. (...) (21 years ago, 16-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: A small car

(...) I agree--I grew up thinking all cars should be four wide, but six is where it's at if you want it to be more detailed. (...) I think this is the key--it's the illusion or pinching of shapes to make them look different than what they really (...) (21 years ago, 16-Mar-05, to lugnet.build)

  Re: fall of an engineer

(...) I was like "Oh man, Rob's getting all soft on us". Then... (...) I read this and it's like, oh that's cute! (...) Yeah, the little stack of drawers which uses the axlehole to represent the knob/pull is clever. Or at least I think that's why (...) (21 years ago, 16-Mar-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: NQC release

Making progress: I changed the public: to private: in RCX_Image.h and here was the output after I did a `make clean`: [root@aluminum nqc-3.1.r1]# make g++ -o bin/mkdata -Inqc/ -Iplatform/ mkdata/mkdata.cpp nqc/SRecord.cpp bin/mkdata (...) (21 years ago, 16-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: fall of an engineer

(...) It's very cute. A lot of really creative ideas. Quite impressive. Maybe, to avoid people like Chirs, she should have her own brickshelf account. You know, it's not like they cost a lot. Derek (21 years ago, 16-Mar-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: NQC release

(...) Can you try adding "private:" directly above the declaration of the nested type Chunk in RCX_Image.h? I'd like to confirm that that change fixes the problem. If any more compile errors (or warnings) show up let me know here or via email. (...) (21 years ago, 16-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Re: FLL not allowing NQC; Mindscript is allowed

(...) So this is that same response we've been hearing for the last couple weeks, right? You are trotting out the same responses you did a week ago - you have not replied to my criticisms of those responses - only repeated them. If that's all you (...)   Re: Redesigned mini train wheel (!)

(...) Oddly enough when I noticed it my excitement turned into disappointment. From what I could tell on the box art in the store, I thought it was actually an axle hole, and I had a mini-celebration for a minute there. Then when I got home and (...) (21 years ago, 16-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: fall of an engineer

I see some interesting things there, wheelblocks as drawers, brackets as seats-- although if I were you I'd tell her to think about the holes in the middle y'know...   Re: Redesigned mini train wheel (!)

(...) I hadn't noticed that, but COOL. That's a very nice set to begin with and this is the icing on top. Hmm, now you've given me an idea about a coal mine for a medieval layout. Thanks LEGO!   Re: When the King got more money (bigger yellow castle)
